The reality is that while I feel fortunate to have a back porch, it is currently a hot mess. I realize I probably won't be able to make that entire wish list a reality. Because let's face it, the weather is not perfect here in HOTlanta and I have a feeling the dollar store didn't get a surplus buy on adorable striped or ikat outdoor throw pillows. However, I do plan to tackle a few projects over the coming weeks to try breathe some life into this space. All on a budget, of course!
It's that time of year again... the time of year when I dream of a beautiful back porch... where friends just pop in for a glass of wine ... and there is a stocked outdoor kitchen ... and a covered roof ... with fans breezing ... and the weather is perfect ... and there are no bugs ... and planters are overflowing with sweet potato vines and colorful flowers ... and I find lovely outdoor cushions, rugs and umbrellas at the Dollar Tree... and I don't walk away from our firepit stinky... and I don't stay up all night after using the firepit worrying that we are going to burn down the house... Can I get an amen ladies?
The DreamI am waiting for the pollen to make it's debut here before I make any big changes, but once that layer of yellow misery has passed through the city, I will report back with some updates. (ugh, allergies here we go!) Until then, I will leave you with some inspiration of rooms and outdoor accessories to ensure that those barren pictures of my deck are not the last images you see. I am thinking a mix of coral, navy and lime green for this space. Do you have plans to tackle your outdoor spaces after the cold winter? Do you ever ponder why outdoor furniture has to cost so much?
