It was trash day.
Now normally, trash day does not excite me. It just means we need to lug our trash cans to and from the street.
But not this trash day.
Just up the road I spotted them. It was dark but I could still make out their silhouettes. My neighbor had two perfectly good pumpkins sitting out for the trash.
So I did what any
I didn't know what I would do with them, but come on, I knew I would come up with something.
It didn't take long.
Really it was within minutes that I knew one would be gold.
As far as the other one?
It didn't get a fancy-schmancy make-over.
I just grabbed a black Sharpie and asked my 3 year old what he was thankful for.
Would you believe the VERY FIRST thing out of his mouth was "For God Who Made Me".
You know I melted into a puddle right there.
I just wanted to freeze that moment in time.
And then the next thing he said he was thankful for was Mater.
Yes, as in the rusty old truck from the movie Cars.
And for his grandparents that are reading, don't worry, you were right below Mater. 🙂
Oh, the mind of a 3 year old!
I love this twist on the Thankful tree. Such a fun and easy way to capture things we are grateful for this time in our lives.
And yes, I added naps. And coffee.
