Last week, the husbie was traveling and I just needed to get out of the house for a few minutes. So after I put the little man to bed, I took the baby and the dog for a quick stroll on our street.
It was trash day.
Now normally, trash day does not excite me. It just means we need to lug our trash cans to and from the street.
But not this trash day.
Just up the road I spotted them. It was dark but I could still make out their silhouettes. My neighbor had two perfectly good pumpkins sitting out for the trash.
So I did what any insane normal person would do… I heaved them into my stroller and scooted on home.
I didn’t know what I would do with them, but come on, I knew I would come up with something.
It didn’t take long.
Really it was within minutes that I knew one would be gold.
As far as the other one?
It didn’t get a fancy-schmancy make-over.
I just grabbed a black Sharpie and asked my 3 year old what he was thankful for.
Would you believe the VERY FIRST thing out of his mouth was “For God Who Made Me”.
