With fall temps and rainy weather last weekend I was craving my favorite chili. Honestly, is there anything better than dumping a bunch of ingredients in the crock pot and coming back hours later with dinner ready to go? This time of year I just love using my crock pot for easy dinners.
One of my favorite slow-cooker recipes is this tasty and easy chili. My mother-in-law shared this with us years ago and it has never failed.
The best part is that this recipe is only 5 ingredients and a couple spices from your cupboard.
Dinner is DONE!
2 Pounds Ground Beef
1 Onion Diced
2 Bell Peppers (red, yellow, and/or green)
3 Cans of Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes (small can)
1 Can Hot Ro*Tel
From the cupboard:
3 T Chili Pepper
3 t Ground Mustard
2 t Pepper
Brown Ground Beef
Add all ingredients into crock pot on low. Here are the fresh veggies and Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes & Ro-*Tel in the crock pot before I added the ground beef.
Let simmer for 6-8 hours. Warning: It will smell divine.
I always keep Hunt’s diced tomatoes and Ro*Tel in the pantry. They are great to keep on hand for this simple recipe and I found them at Walmart.
These five ingredients perfectly fit into a standard crock pot. After you dump everything in the crock-pot, get on with your day. When you come home for dinner, just serve it up with all the fixin’s!
Please note: This tastes best when watching football. 🙂
