{Five Minute Friday} Bar Keepers Friend

in Happy Homemaker, Organize on 02/02/17

Happy Friday friends! Today I am sharing another 5-Minute Friday tip on How to Clean a Burnt Pan. These are posts intended to be simple tips that can be done in about 5 minutes. Over the past couple weeks, I’ve been tackling a cabinet, drawer or area of the house every day. This is not something I am blocking my calendar for, but just working my way through the house organizing and purging. It feel great to make a difference just by chipping away at it!

One of these cabinets I tackled was my pots and pans in the kitchen. I remember 12 years ago when I was a young bride and had the most amazing sparkling clean pots and pans…

Fast forward 12 years. My entire set of stainless steel pans were DISGUSTING. So gross that I had pretty much stopped using them.  So it was either time to throw them away or clean them. Of course I wouldn’t throw away perfectly good pans that just needed to be cleaned so I set out to figure out how to really clean them.

Are you ready for this? ughhhhhhhh….

Sure, they were “clean”. As in I had run them through the dishwasher. I had even attempted the SOS wool pads. But the grease and grime were so burnt on that it was all futile.

But then I found the secret weapon on How to Clean a Burnt Pan- Bar Keepers Friend. This stuff works to clean stainless steel, copper, rust or even dingy hardware. It definitely worked on my stainless steel pots!

You can buy Bar Keepers Friend Here

It took some elbow grease but with a little soaking and scrubbing these babies are almost as good as new.

Not going to lie, I have been shining up everything I can find in my house. Now I just wish I had tried using Bar Keepers Friend sooner!

I hope I sparked you to take a look at something you have chosen to ignore (for years) and just do something about it. Maybe its your pots & pans, maybe its your spice cabinet, maybe it’s the Tupperware that doesn’t have a matching lid.

Find something today and just adult already. 🙂

xoxo-

Heather
