Hi friends and happy FRIDAY! I know you don’t need me to remind you how many days left until Christmas, because I am sure you are feeling the pressure just like everyone else I have talked with this week! So let’s just take a moment to pause, enjoy our peppermint mocha coffee in our Santa mug, turn on some Christmas tunes and have a nice little chat on the porch. Bundle up, it’s chilly out there!
ELF SHENANIGANS
Our Elf arrived and brought some birthday cheer for Daddy! We love our elf Bullseye and it’s been fun to see Sweet P writing him little notes this year.
He also let us know it was time to turn our car into Rudolph. Elf’s Orders! The boys always get a kick out of this. Here is a set from Amazon if you don’t have one yet!
THANKSGIVING
Thanksgiving came and went in a flash didn’t it? We really enjoyed lots of family time and it was nice to just lay low. I’m so thankful for my little family and for all you that read here and comment and support this blog!
OUR FAMILY CHRISTMAS TREE
We inherited lots of new family ornaments this year from both sides of the family- and I absolutely LOVE our family tree. My sister and I helped my mom clean out the Christmas decor in the attic last winter and it was fun to bring home all of the old family ornaments. I also cleaned out my mother in laws storage unit this summer when we downsized her and was able to add lots of new ones to our collection as well. No fancy ornaments, just the great collected ones from all the years. I seriously could not love it any more!
I finally caved and bought a tree collar- it was on mega sale! I am so glad I did because we are trying the tree out in a different spot this year and a tree skirt really wouldn’t work here. I love it over here in this corner- you can see it better from the street and also when watching TV/having the fireplace on.
Speaking of having the fireplace on… Christmas doesn’t officially start around here until we watch Home Alone! It is definitely one of our family traditions!
OUR CHRISTMAS HOME
The wreaths are out on the windows and I just love the way it looks! Makes me feel like I am pulling up to a snowglobe every time I come home. I know the boys wish we had some blow ups or something fun in the yard, but I guess there is always next year…
