Good morning and happy Monday! Brrrrr- did everyone else FREEZE this weekend? 🙂 Today let’s chat about my favorite crowd-pleasing King’s Hawaiian Slider Recipe.
Last week, we left off with a Thanksgiving table setting. I hope it inspired you to start thinking about fun ways to make your table pretty! Today, we are talking FOOD! It just wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without leftovers! But what do you do when you run out? Or you just can’t eat another Turkey sandwich? Here is an easy idea to have on hand. If you are hosting holiday guests, these are an awesome app, snack, lunch- really anytime treat!
I make these year round and no matter the occasion they ALWAYS get gobbled up. Always.
WARNING. These are not healthy. Actually, it’s practically like eating cupcakes.
But it’s the holidays and we can worry about that in January! #gobbletilyawobble
King’s Hawaiian Slider Recipe
I have even gotten into the habit of doubling up the ingredients because I know they will get gobbled! We like to make them on the weekends when entertaining, watching football, they really are a crowd pleaser!
The nice thing about these is that they can be made ahead of time and refrigerated overnight. So you can relax, watch the game and just pop these in the oven when everyone is starting to get hungry!
And of course, I wouldn’t be sharing a recipe here unless it called for 5 ingredients or less. That’s how I roll! The recipe on the King’s Hawaiian website calls for more ingredients and the below is my modified version. Because I keep things simple.
King’s Hawaiian Slider Recipe Ingredients:
1 pound ham (I have used less in a pinch)
6 Slices Swiss Cheese
1/3 Cup Mayonnaise
1 Stick Butter (I use less!)
1 12-pack King’s Hawaiian Original Sweet Dinner Rolls
King’s Hawaiian Slider Recipe Preparation:
Cut the entire pack of rolls in half, horizontally (keeping all top and bottom halves separately in tact). Spread mayo onto 1 side of the rolls. Place the bottom half of rolls in pan and cover with ham and Swiss cheese. Cover ham and cheese with the top of the rolls.
Step 2
Melt Butter
Step 3
Pour melted butter over the rolls, just covering the tops. Cover with foil and let sit for 10 minutes. (I’ve prepped these and left them for much longer, even overnight- but without the butter)
Step 4
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Uncover and cook for additional 2 minutes until tops are slightly browned and crisp. Serve warm.

I make these with turkey all the time bc I don't eat ham. Also, I use mustard instead of mayo and I put onions in it. An extra ingredient, but so yummy.
I've been making my version of these for years. When my brother got married 20+ years ago in Kentucky, we traveled to B'ham to meet up with my sister's family at her MIL's home in Mountain Brook…her MIL was a pretty social lady that entertained a lot and she served these sliders to us for breakfast that morning and I've been making them ever since! I also like to have them Thanksgiving morning while I'm cooking so folks will have something to fill them up in the hours before we eat. Also, we like to have them at night with a spinach salad with warm vinigrette (sp?) dressing.
Hope you are staying warm….it's freezing here today!
I add a slice of tomato in season, sliced pineapple in the winter.
