Happy happy Monday! I hope your weekend was full of SUmMer!!! We were having a MAJOR heat wave here in the south but this weekend it finally cooled off a little. We did manage to log lots of pool hours and the best part is that the boy started swimming without floaties! It’s so fun when things start to click with the kiddos isn’t it?
With July 4th only days away, today I am sharing a long time dream of mine that I recently made happen. Now, I realize most people dream of world peace or winning the lottery.
But I have weird dreams.
This particular dream was that our entire street wave an American flag at their mailbox to celebrate America during Fourth of July.
It all started 5 years ago when we first moved back to Atlanta- it was the last week of June. A dear friend of mine and I met up to go walking and her entire neighborhood had these darling little flags at every mailbox. I was smitten. Turns out this was a (brilliant) ploy from a real estate agent who also conveniently attached her business card to each flag she put out. (details, details)
Fast forward five years. One of the things on our Family Summer Adventure List was to plan a neighborhood Fourth of July parade and I figured the homes needed to be festive too! I purchased 29 medium size American Flags (which I actually found at the Dollar Tree).
Fortunately, we live in a very small neighborhood with only 29 homes so this was affordable. The boys and I went for a walk one night after dinner and stuck a flag at each mailbox on our street.

This is a wonderful Idea. Last year I bought several flags myself after seeing them lining yards, but this Idea is even better and way more thoughtful! I think I will steal it for our small cul-de-sac. Happy 4th and thanks for sharing!
