Hello hello! Hope you had a wonderful holiday week. We stayed in town and had a great Atlanta Staycation with lots of friends, food and fun in the sun. We head down to the beach later this week so I am glad we decided to stick around to enjoy a fun week in Atlanta.
With the Fourth of July on a Wednesday, it really did feel like one big long holiday week. The weekend before the fourth was Sweet B’s fourth birthday party and we celebrated in pirate style.
The following night was my and my 20 year high school reunion. Hard to believe it’s even possible it has been that long since I graduated high school! I was going to wear something in my closet, but at the last minute decided to order this dress. I figured it would be a good staple and was on sale. I loved the fit and the price (around $50!) and see many more wears in it’s future.
I treated myself to a mani/pedi before the big reunion and couldn’t resist when she asked if I wanted to add an American Flag to the big toes. I was ready for the Fourth from head to “toes!” 🙂
It was pretty cool when Better Homes & Gardens featured my Pool Noodle Popsicle Banner on their Instagram! That’s always a fun surprise!
The Big Sweet and I actually had Peachtree Road Race numbers this year. However, for various reasons we decided to opt out the day before. I was so happy one of my friends was looking for numbers and able to snag them both! So instead of running, I woke the boys up bright and early at 6:15 so we could meet some friends and watch the race. With over 60,000 runners and 150,000 spectators it’s always so fun to see Peachtree Road filled with happy runners and so patriotic! I love this awesome Atlanta tradition.
That night we opted not to go watch fireworks (too much headache!) and had a somewhat impromptu pool party and cookout with neighbors. Someone brought a big box of Costco fireworks and it really was the perfect low key way to celebrate. Very soon after the last box of sparklers went out, we walked home and it started to pour. I felt so bad for everyone that was downtown watching the fireworks! (to see our front porch decked out for the fourth, click here)
Turns out the 5th, 6th and 7th of July are pretty fun too!
Little Sweet B even jumped off the diving board for the first time! Whoever said being a boymom isn’t awesome, get a load of this.
When we officially turned to raisins from too much pool time, we had a family outing at the Battery which is the new Braves stadium complex near our house. The Braves were not playing at home this weekend but we found lots to do including a stop at Garden and Gun’s premier restaurant, family bowling at Punch Bowl Social, and then dinner at Antico Pizza. I’ll try to put a recap together of some recent trips over to the Battery as part of my {I HEART ATLANTA} series in case you haven’t been to check it out yet.
Well no wonder I am tired and have heaps of laundry even though we didn’t actually “go” anywhere!
Hope you had a great holiday!
xoxo-
Heather
