{St Thomas} What We Did

in travel on 02/17/15

Well, the snow never came yesterday in Atlanta but brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Hopefully you are staying warm! Just keep chanting, spring will be here soon, spring will be here soon! With these cold temps, I figured what better time to share our recent beach trip?!?! Yesterday, I shared the planning process for our 10 year anniversary trip to St. Thomas. Today I am going to share how we spent our precious time with a recap of Things to do in St Thomas.

Things to do in St Thomas

DAY 1: (Saturday)

We arrived on Saturday afternoon and had a couple hours to blow before our room was ready. So we decided to get a work out in- but it was pretty fab, because this was our view. Also, you can access the spa facility at any time so we grabbed a steam and started to relax.

We walked the grounds, grabbed some lunch and just soaked up the sun.

Here is a shot of our room. I loved everything about it!

And here is the view from our room. Yes, please.

For dinner, we took a cab into Red Hook Village and grabbed some seafood. We could feel ourselves getting more relaxed by the minute!! 🙂

Day 2:  (Sunday)

On a last minute whim, we took the ferry to St. Johns, which surprisingly was pretty painless. It is a 5 minute/ $5 cab ride pp to Red Hook Village and the ferry leaves every hour on the hour. The ferry ride to St. Johns is about 15 minutes.

When we got there, we walked a couple blocks to the state park office and talked with the lady there about the best hiking trail. Lo and behold, the trail head was only steps away.

Amazing views along the trail.

And we ended up on Honeymoon Beach. Unbelievably beautiful!

Day 3: Monday

BOAT DAY!!!! We charted a private boat through the Ritz and did a little island hopping. Captain Mike arrived and we planned our adventure for the day.

This was definitely a splurge, but honestly was the highlight of our vacation!

Our Captain took us to two great snorkel spots and we checked out a couple different reefs. Really breathtaking! These caves were fun to check out.

We had lunch at Soggy Dollar in Jost Van Dyke, British Virgin Islands. I didn’t get any actual pics from this stop because we literally had to swim off from the boat to the Island. How fun is that!?!? But we did snag these koozies, our souveniers from the day.

Day 4: Tuesday

We planned for Tuesday to be a resort day. Just reading, relaxing and soaking up sun.

Of course, we did some water sports which was plentiful through the Ritz. The paddleboarding was fun and actually much easier than I expected! Snorkeling right in the resort bay provided glimpses of two sting rays.

Day 5: Wednesday

We had afternoon flights so we were up early for our standard breakfast. We ate at the resort every morning since it was included in our room rate and we really enjoyed it! The view helped… 🙂

After breakfast we popped in the gym again, and used the spa steam room. From there, we were happy to soak in in every last minute of sunshine until we had to go pack up.

So did I miss any Things to do in St Thomas? All in all, it was truly the perfect getaway for us. And using points and miles made it pretty affordable. I am already counting down the days until our next adventure!

xoxo,
Heather

Any restaurant you have to SWIM to is awesome, in my book. Love the Haven bag getting repurposed as a beach tote, too!
