One of the most common questions I am asked is the wall color in our living room and throughout our house. (The second most common question is about our Blue Ikat family room drapes!) So today I am sharing about the color we chose- Repose Gray Sherwin Williams- and why it has become my go-to paint color.
Repose Gray – In Our Living Room
I am definitely not an expert in this area and it took some trial and error to get it to a color I like. I actually painted our family room a dark gray when we first moved in. And it felt like a bat cave for about six months before I went light. (I also had a black Greek key rug on the floor and a dark brown leather sofa, it was D-A-R-K!)
After many weeks of deliberation and about 17 paint samples, (you can see where I blogged about that here) the color that we chose for our main living area was Repose Gray Sherwin Williams.

I know that gray is not for everyone, and gray can look different in every space. That said, I have recommended this color to several girlfriends and they are all happy with the results in their homes, too. However, you should always grab a paint sample and try it in your own home before the painters arrive.
What is your go-to gray?
