Happy March! I have spring on my brain and can’t help but get excited about the change of season. It feels like the warm temperatures (and pollen) are even earlier than usual this year in Atlanta and I don’t mind at all. (well, maybe I do mind the pollen but you have to take the good with the bad!) My wheels are turning on ways to get ready for spring around the house and so today I thought I would share six fun ideas to get you in the spring mood! Since I’ve been blogging for so long, I have endless spring posts… but here are a few of my faves. They are simple and I hope they inspire you to get a little spring pep in your step.
SIX IDEAS FOR A SPRING REFRESH
ONE- ADD SOME TULIPS
I love grabbing a fresh bouquet of tulips from Trader Joe’s for the kitchen for spring! Here you can see how I displayed them on my kitchen island a few years ago. But keeping fresh flowers around can be tricky so I am considering these tulips on Amazon – tons of great reviews and colors. They end up being about a dollar a stem and will last all spring. I think the white ones overflowing in a big vase in the kitchen would be so pretty!

TWO- RECOVER YOUR PORCH CUSHIONS
Our porch furniture is ancient and it is probably just time to replace it. The problem is, our neighborhood cats think this is their very own Four Seasons vacation spot and I often find them lounging out here. So my solution has been these removable, washable and inexpensive couch cushions from Amazon. I have purchased a navy one as well as a cream one. They are super easy to take on and off and wash!

THREE- DO A 30 DAY SPRING STYLE CHALLENGE
Last year, my blog bestie and I decided to do a 30 day spring style challenge. What does a style challenge mean? Simple- WEAR. THE. CLOTHES!

FOUR- ADD A FRONT DOOR WREATH
I love a good front door wreath and used to keep lots of hand for various holidays and seasons. But over time I have really edited my collection and prefer to keep it simple. One way I have done this is to have an evergreen option that can be used for nearly every holiday or season! I just change out the bow to coordinate.

FIVE- TIME TO ENTERTAIN
I tend to want to hibernate after the holidays… but then spring arrives and it’s time to party! I love a good theme or reason to host and spring is full of them. I have shared a few of our favorite spring ways over the years from hosting an Easter Egg Hunt to Supper Club, to Masters parties (April 9th) to Cinco de Mayo to hosting a Kentucky Derby party (May 6th). So pull out your calendar and pick a date and make a plan. I promise it doesn’t have to be perfect to be fun and memorable.

SIX- SPRUCE UP PORCH ON A BUDGET
For some reason, this is currently my number one post on Pinterest. I shared it back in spring of 2020 when we basically LIVED on our front porch and watched the world go by. It has some tips for using what you already have around the house and making inexpensive updates to refresh your porch.

So do you have spring fever yet? I suddenly have the urge to add some ferns to my planters and grab some tulips. Oh, and buy a hat for a Kentucky Derby party. 🙂
XOXO-
