When I think back to high school, I think about driving around with my girlfriends. Windows down. All of singing at the top of our lungs. Carefree with nowhere to be! Those girlfriends are still some of my closest to this day and while we are not quite the carefree high schoolers, it sure is fun to remember those spring afternoons.
Isn’t it so true how a song can bring back a memory? One song in particular will always take me right back to those days- Trisha Yearwood’s “She’s In Love With the Boy.” Actually, so many of her songs are woven into those high school years that hold such sweet memories. So I was thrilled when Tractor Supply Company asked me to collaborate with her new spring collection inspired by her hometown right down the road in Monticello, Georgia.
The Trisha Yearwood Home Collection is exclusive to Tractor Supply Company and has lots of cute home decor items. I immediately knew that several of the pieces would be perfect for getting the back porch ready for some spring entertaining. So with a few new Tractor Supply accessories in hand, I hosed off the pollen, turned on my old pal Trisha Yearwood and went to town getting it spruced up!
Katie’s sittin’ on her old front porch
Watchin’ the chickens peck the ground
There ain’t a whole lot goin’ on tonight
In this one horse town
Over yonder comin’ up the road
In a beat up Chevy truck
Her boyfriend Tommy is laying on the horn.
Splashing through the mud and the muck.
Watchin’ the chickens peck the ground
There ain’t a whole lot goin’ on tonight
In this one horse town
Over yonder comin’ up the road
In a beat up Chevy truck
Her boyfriend Tommy is laying on the horn.
Splashing through the mud and the muck.
You feeling it too? Let’s get ready for some back porch entertaining!
Our neighborhood weekend happy hours will be starting up soon and while none of us are quite the care free high schoolers driving around carefree anymore, it sure is nice to get everyone together.
I was completely smitten with these tiered tray servers in the bright aqua and green and I knew there was only one thing to do. Set up a margarita bar!
We have spent some time figuring out the perfect margarita recipe and come to find out our neighbors across the street think they have the ultimate recipe. I think this calls for a challenge!
The larger aqua pedestal server was perfect for holding some glasses and the smaller lime green was perfect for limes! I used the planter to house some white hydrangeas and I’d say we are ready for a soiree!
Her Daddy’s waitin up ’till half past twelve
When they come sneakin’ up the walk
He says young lady get on up to your room
While me and junior have a talk
Momma breaks in says don’t lose your temper
It wasn’t very long ago
You yourself was just a hay seed plow boy
Who didn’t have a row to how
When they come sneakin’ up the walk
He says young lady get on up to your room
While me and junior have a talk
Momma breaks in says don’t lose your temper
It wasn’t very long ago
You yourself was just a hay seed plow boy
Who didn’t have a row to how
My daddy said you wasn’t worth a lick
When it came to brains you got the short of the stick
But he was wrong and honey you are too
Katie looks at Tommy like I still look at you
When it came to brains you got the short of the stick
But he was wrong and honey you are too
Katie looks at Tommy like I still look at you
Guaranteed will have this song in your head for weeks. #sorrynotsorry
She’s in love with the boy
She’s in love with the boy
She’s in love with the boy
What’s meant to be will always find a way
She’s gonna marry that boy someday
She’s in love with the boy
She’s in love with the boy
What’s meant to be will always find a way
She’s gonna marry that boy someday
Now off to text my neighbors to put this porch to use!
xoxo-
