Southern State of Mind Blog by Heather

Our Summer Front Porch

in Porch Life, Summer on 06/19/18

One of my very favorite things about our home is the front porch and I’ve enjoyed changing it up with each season. You can see all of the updates over the past year here.   This summer, most of the time you can find it filled with shoes, bikes, a half read magazine, stray socks, Legos and Nerf darts. We definitely live on this porch.

But sometimes it looks like this. Cleaned up wearing her red, white and blue and all ready for summer!

RED BUFFALO CHECK PILLOWS   |    AMERICAN FLAG PALLET

Buffalo Check Rug

It didn’t take much to make her festive, just some red buffalo check pillows and the pallet flag.

The Pallet Flag was a super simple DIY, and I will be back to share the details for you on Friday.

Buffalo Check Rug

We sadly lost our chocolate lab last fall and while I am no where near ready to replace her, I do love having this little mossy friend greet us on the porch.  Isn’t it adorable?

I shared this wreath for my March porch, and it is doing exactly what I hoped! I was hoping for something “evergreen” that I could put up between holidays. So far it is perfect for spring and summer and I still love it! To see the tutorial, click here.

Isn’t everything so pretty with a little red, white and blue? If you want lots more inspiration, be sure to check out all of the great porches linked below. Happy front porch sitting!

Love this entire space! It’s so inviting. And I love the pallet flag – may have to make something like it for our porch.

Love, Love, Love the Red White and Blue! You even put blue and white garden gloves on your table. Great touch! Love the pallet flag! Looks like a great project. I see pallets people are getting rid of all the time! Maybe I’ll pick one up!
