It’s a Sock Monkey Christmas Tree!

in Inspiration on 12/09/13

It just hit me one day.
Like back in July. Yep, when it was 100
degrees.
Mr. Big Stuff needed a Sock Monkey Christmas
Tree.

The Sock Monkey collection started when he was born. The handful of monkey’s he had received as gifts were sitting on a shelf in his nursery.

The collection grew when we received this precious sock monkey ornament from his Nana & Papa the first year he was born.

This summer, when I came across a few more at the Goodwill,
I was committed to pulling this Sock Monkey tree together.
Isn’t there just something about Sock Monkeys that feel festive?

So for the past 6 months or so, I have been collecting sock monkeys.
Most of them were a buck each from the Goodwill.
I cannot believe how many I was able to find!

A sock monkey tree wouldn’t be complete with a Monkey on Parade!
I just added the red wagon at the base with Mrs. Sock Monkey for an extra playful
touch.

The Sock Monkey Christmas Tree concept got the finishing touch when I found this tree at the Goodwill for $5, complete with the lights. And the black and white checked burlap ribbon was leftover from my pumpkin topiaries.
So, this whole monkey-get-up was probably about $20.

Do you have a children’s themed tree?
monkeying around, xoxo
Heather

My great grandmother always gave her grandchildren a handmade gift for Christmas. One year we all received Sock Monkeys! I would love to have a Sock Monkey Christmas Tree just like this!

    Love it!

This tree is adorable! I love it and I love the idea of a children's themed tree! We used to put some of our Rudolph stuffies around the base of our playroom tree, but nothing this elaborate! So cute Thanks for sharing at our holiday link up! Kim @ Exquisitely Unremarkable
