Happy FriYAY friends!
Nothing like a 4 day week to compound how fast the weeks seem to fly by these days. It’s funny because when I decided to stay home with the boys I actually thought I might get bored.
Jokes on me because there is literally never a dull moment around here. Life is busy but good and we are just all trying to find a routine. I know I keep sharing how things have been crazy and I promise I will bring you up to speed soon! 🙂
Today I am sharing some touches of fall throughout the house. Only touches y’all because it is still H-O-T + H-U-M-I-D here in Atlanta. As much as I adore summer, around this time of year this gal is ready to swap the flip flops for boots and get some cooler temperatures. It’s really hard to embrace the #pumpkineverything mentality when it’s 90 degrees!
I have to admit with the hot temps, I have had a hard time shifting gears. Does anyone else struggle with adding fall decor? I don’t know what it is, but I just get stuck and find that I have a hard time decorating for fall.
So to make it simple I just decided to go with a favorite color combo of mine and added some pops of orange with the existing navy.
And gold.
Lot’s of gold.
I find that when I get stuck sometimes it’s just easiest to keep it simple.
Alrighty, so let’s start in the foyer. Mom found these fun basket weave lampshades for me. I also added the brass boot tray from the Ballard outlet, a big lantern and a few pumpkins.
The orange tassels have been there but are perfect for this time of year. From the foyer we move into the family room.
More orange + navy + gold.
Those black and white striped tapers seem to make their way into my fall decor every year. Click here to see how I made them.
And from the family room we mosey our way into the eat-in kitchen (which is my dining room).
Oh hello cute succulent pumpkin planter.
Aren’t you adorable? 🙂
My friend in Florida gave me lots of clippings from her succulent this summer. I just sliced off the top of a foam pumpkin and voila- a fun fall planter. I love it on some black and white buffalo check and the fun tree slice charger my brother in law made for me.
Well, I am in the middle of changing out my closet from summer to fall so I best get back to my purging and organizing. That is one of my “No-Spendtember” to-dos after all! I will be back next week with some more fall in the house.
Of course, I couldn’t let this day pass without a moment to remember this fateful day in 2011. I will always remember.
And if you are feeling stumped for ways to add fall decor to your home I have you covered. I joined up with some great ladies for fall inspiration galore! Be sure to check them out below.

This looks so great. I just about fell out of my chair when you paired the double happiness jar with the pumpkins. I have the same jar and adore it. The woven lampshades…I died. Can I just move in? Thanks for participating in the blog hop.

Your home is beautiful. I love your pumpkin succulent holder. It adds just the right amount of Fall and moves us to Halloween. I am a little embarrassed to say I already decorated our main fireplace mantel for that holiday! Yes, Sometimes I have too much time on my hands while I procrastinate on others. Thank you for sharing. Pinning and sharing you beautiful post. It is wonderful hopping with you 🙂

I love your wood slices 🙂 And those shades your Mom found are great!! I totally have trouble shifting gears when it's hot outside too…which is why my fall home tour is from LAST year…still can't bring myself to pack the beach towels 😉

Heather you have a beautiful home! I just love all the pattern mixing. I have black striped taper candles that show up every fall as well. Lol.

Your home is beautiful! I love all of the seasonal decor. Seeing such beautiful arrangements makes me want to do my own! I hate to admit it but I don't even have a single pumpkin on our porch. #badblogger! I clicked on your link on the Thrifty Decor Link Up because of your darling ginger jar. Got to love a fellow blue and white ginger jar lover. I literally had to double check if your vase on the fireplace was the same as mine! Too funny!

Love your fall decor – can’t wait to see this year’s! I especially like the use of your wood slices under the pumpkin and lamp, and I’m getting a tassel for my lamp for sure! Great job!
Thanks for sharing.
