If you are like me, you are quickly realizing that every time you turn around there is a reason to give your kid’s teacher a present. Back to School, Christmas, Valentines, Teacher Appreciation Week, Birthdays, End of School…
And I am the FIRST TO REALIZE that they deserve these tokens of our appreciation more than we could ever show. (seriously, how do they do it?!?!) But let’s be honest- no one needs another mug or vase. My normal go-to is a Starbucks gift card, but I wanted to think outside the coffee cup this time. Especially because I wanted to give all of his teachers that have impacted his school year a little something so wanted to keep it pretty inexpensive.
I love giving gifts that are consumable. Something that literally cannot just sit on a shelf but must be consumed and enjoyed. Which is why I just love this simple peach teacher gift idea.
Now I realize that we are in the peach state here in Atlanta, but who doesn’t love a yummy peach?
This sweeter than a peach teacher gift is really easy to put together. I just added some crinkle paper and twine to the berry baskets and tied the gift tag. And because I’m also sweet as a peach :), I created this fun printable gift tag that you can download here.
I found my peaches at Whole Foods and helped myself to their paper pint baskets (aka- free). If your grocer doesn’t have these on hand, you could use a brown paper bag, wrapped burlap or a fun wooden basket. If you want to buy bulk and inexpensive baskets, these paper berry baskets are perfect and only $0.75 each for 10. If you plan to give a big basket of these to an entire teacher group, I think a bushel basket would be really cute sitting out in a break room.
Now, if for some reason, you can’t get your hands on some good looking peaches, you could still use this method and instead of peaches, just gift a peach flavored item. I think some peach pepper jelly or peach salsa is always a good idea and something anyone would love to pull out when entertaining.
Of course, if you don’t have any teachers in your life, this would be fun to show a neighbor, friend, co-worker- really anyone – a token of your appreciation!
