Hello hello friends! Summer is in FULL swing for us and I didn’t mean to let an entire week go by without checking in! Last week was Vacation Bible School and I didn’t know which way was up with our crew coming and going from the church all week but we had a blast. We’ve also logged lots of swimming, fishing and even had some fun catching fireflies. All the summer goodness! This week the boys are both in camps so I am hoping to play catch up around the house and blog.

If you’re coming over from Carmel’s house where she shared a yummy cocktail recipe, welcome! For my stop along the way, I am sharing a flower arrangement that would make a great centerpiece for any summer entertaining.
I have found myself drawn to citrus this summer and you will see it around here over the next few weeks in various posts. For this fun flower arrangement, I used fresh lemons and limes, as well as clipped magnolia stems and blue hydrangeas from our yard. This is super inexpensive considering I only needed to buy a bag of fresh limes and lemons for such a big impact on our kitchen island.
To make them, I just used three glass vases that were gifted to me after a friend’s wedding. I have used them countless times over the seasons but this might be my favorite yet! I started with lemons and limes and just dumped them in until the water was full. Then I added the magnolia stems. It took some tweaking to get them looking right so you may need to spend a little time on this step. Then I just clipped some hydrangeas being sure to keep the stems extra long and popped them in along with the magnolias.
I can imagine this as a perfect centerpiece with a big shrimp boil as the main course. If you have never tried doing a shrimp boil- it is definitely something to add to your summer bucket list and I use this recipe. It would be such a fun progressive dinner menu idea! I have also seen these Shrimp Boil foil packets and will be trying that soon.
If my summer progressive dinner stop was for dessert, I would serve a key lime pie along with this citrus centerpiece. So summery!
