A Hydrangea Arrangement Perfect for Summer

in Home Tour on 06/04/19

Hi friends! How’s your June going? We are already getting into our summer groove which means lots of pool time, Vacation Bible School, swim meets… and that I have pretty much given up on a somewhat clean house until September. But I did clear the counters enough to snap some pictures of my summer hydrangea arrangement. If you recall, I did a similar one with lemons and limes last year. I am currently having a “moment” with the color orange, so I couldn’t resist trying a similar look using oranges and mandarins!

SUMMER HYDRANGEA ARRANGEMENT

I always love changing up the kitchen island for the seasons and holidays. And I just think blue hydrangeas are the epitome of summer. And when you add in oranges, it definitely kicks up summer even more! But while I absolutely love the hydrangeas and oranges together, the real star of this show is the magnolia stems. I tried it without them and it just fell flat.

To make this hydrangea arrangement, I just grabbed my trio of trusty vases and went to town. Of course, I was thrilled to be able to clip some blue hydrangeas from our yard to enjoy inside.

ITEMS NEEDED:

  • BLUE HYDRANGEAS
  • ORANGES
  • MANDARIN ORANGES
  • MAGNOLIA STEMS
  • GLASS VASES

I ended up using a mix of regular oranges and smaller mandarin oranges. I like the way the two sizes look together. And I just seriously love that pop of orange with the blue and green!
