{The Foyer} A Facelift

in Lifestyle on 05/11/15

Hi! I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day weekend. Ours was jam packed and got me seriously excited for summer adventures. It was great to enjoy some family time and I am just loving the boys ages these days! (3.5 yrs and 10 months)

Thank you so much for your sweet comments about our master bedroom makeover reveal last week! It really feels great to have it pulled together. I still smile when I walk by the room and that is really what it is all about, right?  I still want to share some of the DIY’s from that room but I am kind of excited about another update….

I hinted that the master bedroom wasn’t the only room that I have been busy zhushing lately. Today I am going to share our new and improved foyer.

Sometimes a makeover in one room can start an avalanche of makeovers around here. I love using things I have on hand in new ways and in different rooms to give the space a new look. But that usually results in tackling more than one space at a time. It’s my own version of Home Decor Tetris, and apparently my idea of a good time. 🙂

Hale Navy Foyer

The foyer was one of the spaces I was dreaming of reworking this year. As I finished painting the navy blue accent wall in the master bedroom, I literally just wandered down the hall and started slapping it up on the foyer wall…

I really can’t help myself sometimes y’all. 🙂 #itsasickness

But I am so glad I did because it was just what I needed to start the foyer facelift.
If you recall, our foyer previously looked like this. It was fine, I really liked it actually. But my style is always evolving and I was ready for a change.

Plus as I mentioned, things are always shifting around here and this console is now in the guest room as a dresser, those lamps are in our master and the star burst mirror is above the master bed. (See what I mean about decor tetris?)
Since the foyer makes the first impression in your home, I wanted to make a big impression. Go bold. Go big or go home.

I was definitely ready for a change and something that made a big statement when you walk in. Something that said, “Hello Y’all. Welcome.”
Hale Navy Foyer
I’d say mission accomplished.

Striped Rug in Hale Navy Foyer
I will be back this week to share some of the DIY’s, including the art.
Hint: It was $7…intrigued?
Also, that driftwood dresser didn’t start out like that!

Hi, Heather! Visiting from Best of the Nest. I love the navy wall–it looks so crisp. That art is amazing! I'm sure your guests will love coming through the door and seeing the new space.
