Hi friends! And just like that it is September and there is a chill to the air here in Atlanta! It’s crazy how the weather truly got the memo this year that summer is coming to an end. I feel like we are normally still sweating buckets this time of year here in Atlanta so this briskness is truly refreshing. I’m sure we will still have some heat so I am relishing every minute of this weather I possibly can.
Of course, all of this is shadowed by the looming Hurricane Irma. Sounds like we will be having some family evacuate here for the weekend which is always nice. Prayers to everyone in it’s path! I think we will be battening down the hatches ourselves here in Atlanta early next week.
One of my absolute favorite things about the new house is the front porch. In the few short months we have lived here, it has already logged countless hours of “front porch sitting” and now that the weather has cooled I think you will pretty much find me sitting here as much as possible!
Since I know I will enjoy changing up this little area with the seasons and holidays, my plan is to share some snaps of the porch each month in hopes that you will be inspired for your own front porch or outdoor area. Or if you don’t have an outdoor space, then let’s just pretend that you and I are “front porch sitting” over some Pumpkin Spice Latte this morning ok?
For September, I just switched out the navy pillows for some black and white railroad ticking striped pillows. My new tip is that I will only buy pillow covers and no longer entire throw pillows. This really cuts back on the storage space necessary for my throw pillow habit.
I added a black and white striped rug I had from the old house and also snagged a mum from Home Depot. Pop it into a farmer’s basket and BOOM- Instant fall! I called our local market and they said they will be getting their first shipment of pumpkins next week so you betcha I will be snagging some ASAP. (Lucy’s Market for anyone local :))
I also brought out a couple lanterns for the table and added my plaid blanket scarf. The barn star stays for now.
Happy September y’all!
