Happy Friday! In case you thought my front porch was always tidy, today you are getting a taste of the real thing. Shoes. A pool noodle. (don’t ask) Soccer gear from last Saturday. A random Braves foam tomahawk probably left over from our Braves party a month ago. Not shown: dead mums, a plate with a half eaten pancake (seriously, don’t ask) and a pair of scissors.
I can assure you that most of the time I snap a pic for the blog, I am shoving something out of the way. So, with that, grab your coffee (and watch your step) and meet me on the porch! It’s time for our Front Porch Coffee Talk.
Oh yeah, and my neighbor dropped off a few bags of hand-me downs so here is another view of our real life front porch as you might see it on any given day. I am happy to report that I have this cleaned up… and just in time for the weekend. LOL. Thought this mug was appropriate and it reminds me to try not and sweat the small stuff. (or the sticky stuff?!?!) I was given this as a thank you for being the room mom last year. Cute gift idea if you need something similar.
Look what I found at Trader Joe’s- packaged Magnolia leaves- woo hoo! If you don’t have these beautiful clippings at your disposal you can grab some at your local TJ’s. I have never seen these here before, and this was the last package in my store so I am assuming they go fast.
Speaking of magnolia leaves, check out this fun centerpiece idea. So simple yet so perfect for Thanksgiving and it could take you right into Christmas.

The time change happens every fall, right? Then why is it that every year I find it so shocking when it gets dark so early? Please tell me I wasn’t the only one who wanted to get in pajamas and crawl in bed at 7pm all week!?!
The time change has helped to work in our favor when it comes to waking up in the mornings though. We have a night owl on our hands (mom says its karma because I’ve always been a night owl) and it’s always interesting to see what creations he makes in his room after we tuck him in. All I normally see when I walk in their rooms is a mess, but this one made me pause. Wish I knew what he was thinking when he did this! #WhatDidTheDinosaursDoLastNight
Last week I shared that I (FINALLY) listened to my first podcast. Well I continued this week and listened to another entertaining one about how Kate Spade became a household name. It’s only around 45 minutes and interesting to hear Kate (and her husband Andy) discuss how they built their brand. You can listen to it here: Podcast How I Built This- Kate & Andy Spade
I snagged these black plants from Target this week. They are a mix of comfy sweat pants and looking presentable in public. So so comfy and only $20. Seriously I had my doubts when I ordered them, but I’m in love and know I will wear them all winter. And they have pockets so that is a WIN! I also snagged these black mules that I have been eyeing since last year (they were out of stock in my size and I just signed up to be noticed when they are back in stock) and this cream turtleneck (comes in 8 colors and only $15) I see a comfy carpool outfit in my future. On repeat!
I have been working behind the scenes on a fun “Eat, Drink & Be Thankful” series for next week as we celebrate Thanksgiving here on the blog. Here is a sneak peak of what’s to come… lots of inspiration so be sure to tune in every day to help get you in the turkey mood!
Happy weekend!
xoxo-
Heather
HI! I think the link to the mules is going to the pants. Dying to see what the mules look like. Thanks!

I just literally giggled when I saw what Brooks did when he was supposed to be in bed!
