In case you missed it, last week I started a new series called Front Porch Coffee Talk where we can just pretend we are two friends chatting it up on the front porch over coffee. So grab yourself a cup of coffee and let’s chat! It’s actually quiet here this morning because the boys are at my parents. Brian and I are off to Mississippi this weekend for a fun weekend getaway to explore the coast. Yay for a kid free getaway!
First things first, I need to confess that we binged Dead to Me on Netflix this week. Have you watched it yet? We were looking for something to watch and stumbled upon it. The plot is definitely far-fetched but it hooked me in, and now I am crossing my fingers for a second season. No spoilers, but I would love to know your thoughts if you are also guilty of binging it!
I have been on a major nacho kick at home lately. I love making nachos for a quick lunch or afternoon snack. When I found these chips at Trader Joe’s they added a whole new level of my new nacho addiction. Tasty!
Last Friday was our first official day of summer. I told the boys we were heading to Costco but then I actually surprised them and took them to the Georgia Aquarium. I knew I would feel better if I got up and got dressed so that is what I did! This striped tank dress was the perfect comfy option and of course I wore my new Tretorns which were perfect for running after the kiddos.

We enjoyed a staycation for Memorial Day weekend and it was so nice to be home! We spent the days at the pool and were completely waterlogged every day! Sweet B passed the swim test so he was happy as could be to finally be able to use the slide and diving board. I hung this new-to-me vintage bunting (found a similar one online here) on the front porch to help make the weekend festive and I just LOVE the way it looked!
Speaking of vintage items, I trotted my flag straw bag out over the weekend. I grabbed this years ago and it is always fun to wear in the summer. This swimsuit is also really fun and festive (and only $25), but be sure to size up!

Since we spent so many hours at the pool, I lived in a hat all weekend! This Georgia American Flag one is not available online but I found this similar one that is only $10 and available in 1o colors. I have my eye on the white one.

The hydrangeas and gardenias EXPLODED in the yard this week and I am one happy mama! I guess this officially makes me an adult? 🙂
Well, off to pack and head to the airport. Excited to explore a new place this weekend! What are you up to?
Happy Summer!
xoxo-
Heather
Love your ATL hat!
Loving the new Front Porch Coffee Talk posts! Yes! I’ve recently started watching Dead to Me too & so far I really like it a lot too! I have always been Christina Applegate fan so I figured it had to be good if she was in it.
So, I actually lived on the Miss. Gulf Coast (in Long Beach) from 1992 to 2012-raised my daughter’s there. It has really changed a great deal since I moved away (we actually just visited my family there this past March & I couldn’t believe how much the area has grown in such a small amount of time 😱). Theres so much more to do nowadays-lots of great restaurants with plenty of fresh seafood (Harbor View Cafe in Long Beach, Half-Shell Oyster House in Gulfport & Trapanis in Bay St Louis have always been my faves & The Chimneys in Gulfport too-I actually worked for them many years ago when it was located in Long Beach). There’s a lot more than just the casinos so ldefinitely get out & explore! You’re sure to find some treasures in the shops in downtown Ocean Springs, Long Beach or Bay St Louis & all are accessible from Hwy 90-it runs along the entire Miss. Coast). Hope you enjoy your trip!
