Five Minute Hostess Tip: Cream Cheese & Pepper Jelly Appetizer

in Food, Gather, Happy Homemaker on 09/28/15

No get-together is complete without the quintessential Southern appetizer
of cream cheese and pepper jelly.

So that neighbor that came over to drop off your mail? She is still hanging out an hour later. Turns out you had lots to catch up on. You offer her something to drink. Then you walk to the pantry and because you are prepared for such an occasion, and you grab your secret weapon.

You are a hostess hero.

Today I am back with my 4th and final post in the Back to Basic post series. When we were in Jackson Hole a couple weekend ago, my friend pulled out this old favorite appetizer. It was around 4 in the afternoon and we weren’t going to eating dinner for a couple hours. This took all of 3 minutes and was perfect in holding everyone over.

For those of you not familiar with this crowd-pleaser- I am so happy I get to introduce you. For those of you that know about this yummy snack- this is your reminder to go ahead and add these three ingredients to your grocery list for the upcoming holiday season. This is a great thing to have on hand for that last minute gathering.

Ready?
Block of Cream Cheese
+
Jar of Pepper Jelly
+
Box of crackers

It’s basic, and it’s tasty.

To make it:
Place block of cream cheese on serving plate and pour Pepper Jelly over cream cheese. Serve as a spread for crackers. It’s best when served at room temp or slightly heated in microwave.

YUM! If you liked this Back to Basic tip- be sure to check out the other gals tips. I am just loving this series and hope you are too!

I love a cream cheese appetizer. You just can't go wrong here. For spring and summer I've served it with drained pineapple bits too. Yum. Tonight is Monday Night Football so I think I'm stopping by the grocery store for your three ingredient appetizer. Go PACK Go! (I just had to add that little cheer in).
