Well good morning and happy Monday. Hope you had a great weekend! If you follow me on Instagram you know we just spent a long weekend in Jackson Hole. It was a fantastic trip out west. The views were amazing, the friends are like family and it was nice to have a couple days “off-duty” from the kiddos. I will be sharing some of the highlights of our trip soon.
Today I am back with another Back to Basics tip. Here is a five minute hostess tip to make your house get that cozy authentic autumn aroma.
Just fill a small sauce pan with water and bring to a boil. Add some orange slices and a cinnamon stick. Continue to boil for a few minutes, then turn the heat down to simmer. Add water as needed, usually every 30 minutes or so.

Glad you had a great trip! I like to add cloves, apple pie spice and whatever I have available. Love it! This is a great "healthy" tip also. Our homes get so dry in the winter being closed and having the heat on. The water evaporating in the air helps reduce the dryness factor.

I've done vanilla, lemon slices, and rosemary, and it smells so heavenly–and so much less expensive than buying artificial air fresheners. Great tip! So glad you had a fun trip!

You are SO smart with these super easy, useful tips! I totally do this in the winter too…I add a bay leaf, sometimes lemon like Christy says. We have this lemon verbana plant that smells like HEAVEN and I never know what else to do with it except heat it on the stove!
