Southern State of Mind Blog by Heather

Just Add Snow! A Winter Wonderland Front Porch for the Holidays

in Christmas, Porch Life on 12/04/19

Our front porch has become somewhat of my sidekick on the blog this year since I’ve started the Front Porch Coffee Talk series. So of course, it got a big old dose of winter wonderland cheer for the holidays! So today let’s take a walk through this winter wonderland front porch- where all you need to do is add snow. I am also joining a group of wonderful ladies sharing their front porches- all linked below so be sure to check them out. I cannot wait to get some front porch inspiration!

WINTER WONDERLAND FRONT PORCH

Welcome to our front porch! In warmer months you will find me out here most mornings sipping on my coffee. With the cooler temperatures, I am probably not going to be drinking my coffee, but it is still fun to give it a little new life for the holidays. For the front entrance, I just added some fresh pine garland from Trader Joe’s along with some lights. The wreath also came from Trader Joe’s and I love how simple it all is!

Of course, it wouldn’t be a room in my home without a dash of blue, so I added this sweet velvet and satin bow to the wreath.

Since I blew my budget on fresh garland and a fresh wreath and that pretty blue satin ribbon- I had fun making some completely free planters for my burnt copper pots.

Are they perfect? Nope.

Do I love them? Yep!

If you have some sad planters and are out of decorating money- click here to see how I made these free Christmas planters for your porch.

OK, so now let’s swing around to the other side of the porch now.

PORCH SOURCES: BURNT COPPER PLANTER | FREE CHRISTMAS PLANTER TUTORIAL  LEOPARD RUG  |   WREATH |  GARLAND |  LARGE LANTERN |  TALL BLACK PLANTER   |  GRAY ROCKING CHAIRS  |  GREEN VELVET PILLOWS |  SWEATER PILLOWS  |  BLUE RIBBON

I love shopping the house to see what I can find every season and for this winter wonderland porch, I snagged my green velvet pillows and some small leopard print pillows.

The rockers are staying warm with these sweater pillows! And you guessed it- I made another free planter for this back corner. In addition to the greenery, I stacked a few birch logs in to add some winter wonderland charm!

OUTFIT SOURCES: LEOPARD BOOTS  |  FAIR ISLE SWEATER or HERE (similar) |  BEANIE WITH POM POM

These lanterns seem to move around every season out here and hold all kinds of different things! For our winter wonderland- I plopped some birch logs in and called it a day. (pine cones would have been cute too)

Thank you for stopping in today and joining me for a walk through the Winter Wonderland Porch! Click here to see the rest of my “Walking in a Winter Wonderland Home“.

How did I not know that Trader Joe’s sold fresh greens? So jealous. It was bad enough to have to drive for cookie butter, LOL. I love the wreaths on the windows, and the knit sweater pillows get me every time!

Your porch looks beautiful! I wish we had a TJ’s. Their greenery and wreaths always look amazing when I see them on blogs. I love the planters that you DIY’d for free, they look great, and also love your cozy pillows in your chairs. Your porch looks very welcoming for Christmas guests.
