It’s A Colorful Wonderful Winter Wonderland

in Christmas on 12/09/19

Good morning friends! Hope you had a wonderful weekend filled with lots of holiday joy! Ours was festive and fast, and I think I am loving this lead up time to Christmas more this year than ever before. Today I am thrilled to be joining some of my fave blogging friends to share our colorful Christmas homes. If you are a color-lover, then you are in for a big Christmas morning sized treat today!

If you are coming over from Haneen’s house– WELCOME! WELCOME! I just adore Haneen and love how she is fearless in trying new things in her home- of course always with loads of color.  Today I am sharing my most colorful moments around the house- It’s a Colorful Wonderful Winter Wonderland! If you are new here- I am so glad you are here! Come on in…

It wasn’t easy, but I narrowed down my ten most favorite colorful spots in my home to share with you today as part of the “It’s a Colorful Life Holiday Home Tour.” So let’s just jump right in!

|ONE| FRONT FOYER

Our front foyer is pretty small so I kept it simple in here. This bold and bright Nutcracker art was the main addition, and a fun vintage needlepoint pillow.

| TWO | NUTCRACKER COLLECTION ON DISPLAY

I cleared the pair of built-in bookshelves in order to give our nutcrackers a place to shine. My mother in law collected these and we now have all of hers plus all of the ones she has bought for us in our 15 years of marriage. What I am showing here is probably only half!

Other side

|THREE| NUTCRACKER TREE

Speaking of Nutcrackers- I tried to simplify this year and only did 4 trees, ha ha ha. But really though- I did eliminate a few but glad our family den still got one! And I decided to use all of the nutcracker ornaments we have- and ornaments that compliment those colors. I just love this colorful tree!

|FOUR| NUTCRACKER VIGNETTE

This fun little nook in the house also got loaded up with Nutcrackers this year and I love how colorful it is here now.

|FIVE|  FESTIVE MANTEL

OK, let’s move over to the living room area. The mantel was a work in progress for about a week and I just kept adding and adding. More is more? And of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without some Home Alone! It has been so fun re-watching it with the boys every year and hearing them laugh so hard. One of our favorite traditions!

|SIX| OUR FAMILY TREE

Oh Christmas Tree! Oh Christmas Tree! I just love this sweet little tree filled with our precious family ornaments. In year’s past, I have always tried to “zhush” up our family tree with matching colors, garlands, or bows. But we kept it real this year and I simply love it.

|SEVEN| WINTER WONDERLAND KITCHEN

The kitchen got a little added color with this Christmas village cloche!

And of course my Santa mug collection made their appearance this year.

|EIGHT| DINING ROOM

Our dining room is decked out with lots of trees of blue and green, and a colorful Christmas tree centerpiece. I can’t wait to host family in here on Christmas!

|NINE|  CHEERFUL BAR

I tried something new this year in our bar with a Christmas card display. I can’t wait to fill this spot up with the sweet little faces of our loved ones.

And on the other side we are also festive with a garland and some fun bar accessories.

|TEN|   OUTDOOR ROOM

Granted, this outdoor space didn’t get much variety of color- but I couldn’t ignore my favorite navy blue out here. I loved “shopping the house” to turn this space into a Winter Wonderland this year.

Well, that’s a wrap on my top ten favorite colorful Christmas “moments” in our holiday home. Thank you so much for joining me today!

A big thanks to Jennifer at Dimples and Tangles for coordinating and she is the next stop on our tour. Her home is always so cheerful and Christmas is no exception! Also be sure to hop around at all of the lovely ladies sharing their colorful homes below:

Loved the tour, seeing all the areas in one post! Very festive! I’ll bet your boys are looking forward to Santa’s arrival! 🎄🎁❄️

I have a question about the cornbread you made for your chili dinner a little while ago. Do you follow the directions on the Trader Joe’s box or do you add anything else? I’ve never used this brand of cornbread mix which contains kernels of corn. Thanks! Linda🐝

Hi Linda- I just use the box ingredients and instructions- nothing added. Hope it turns out well for you!
