Today I am popping in with some fall kitchen decor ideas and a really simple fall centerpiece idea for your kitchen island.
I remember when we first walked into our house, the first thing I fell in love with was the over sized kitchen island. I could see pancake breakfasts, homework, happy hours and everything in between happening right there!
It’s been fun to style the kitchen island this past year with the seasons and holidays. But honestly, it hasn’t come easy for me! So I figured it may be something you struggle with too. So I am sharing a super simple fall idea for your kitchen island in case you struggle with it too.
Lighted Grapevine Pumpkin | Velvet Pumpkins | Wooden Tray | Plaid Infinity Scarf | Black Jeans | Booties
For this look, I just started with a large serving tray that I’ve had for years. It has floated from coffee tables to shelves and now the kitchen island. Then I added a fun lighted grapevine pumpkin. This purchase goes against my holiday storage rule that everything needs to store easily in tubs. However, I plan to purge a few things I didn’t pull out this year to make room for this in the existing tubs we have. If I bring something in- something has to go to make room!
Once the grapevine lighted pumpkin was in place, I just added every other pumpkin I could get my hands on. Some of these were pulled from the storage tubs. (Target Dollar Spot for the win!) A few are real ones from the market. (aka- no storage needed ) One is from the dollar store that I painted navy blue and one has some glitter. It’s definitely a hodge-podge- but I think it works!

I love how the collection of pumpkins is a mix of colors and textures- and I love how the scale works on the large island.
I hope this simple idea helps spark something for your kitchen island too. Sometimes less is more and I think I crave less clutter in our kitchen since it opens up to the rest of the main living area.
I would love to hear about your fall kitchen decor what you do for your kitchen island in the fall? I’m thinking this will get me through Thanksgiving, then it’s on to Christmas!
