One Room Challenge {Week Two} - Southern State of Mind Blog by Heather

Hi there lovebugs and happy One Room Challenge update day. It’s week two of the six week challenge and I can’t believe we are already a third into the time frame to complete the space. I haven’t made a ton of progress but there is one big update to share with you today:

A new rug is in the building. I repeat. A new rug is in the building. And it’s PERFECT.

You may recall that a few months back I shared that we got a new chair from Kohl’s which pretty much kick started this whole new sitting room and dining room. Since we liked the chair so much, we went ahead and got another to match. This rug has now happily found it’s way into the room and it perfectly ties the gray chairs to the brown chairs we already had. And it even has a touch of navy. To remind you, here is the look we are going for in the sitting/dining room area.

Like I said, it is perfect!

Who is with me thinking rugs can really be a tough decision? Such a commitment and can really define the look of the room. I was thrilled to choose a great Mohawk rug from Kohl’s, and there were many options to choose from.

I went with the Laguna Lyndon Shag. It is super soft and the blend of colors is PERFECT for hiding stains. Not that we will have any or anything. (ha, yeah right.)

OK. So one rug down, only 1 meeeeeellion more things to check off the list to complete these rooms in the next 4 weeks. And because we all love a good to-do list, here we go:
