Make these Sausage Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls for an early tailgate and watch them disappear.
Last weekend my husband’s Alma Mater played their football season opening game in Dublin, Ireland. Fun, right? This means that while the game was a reasonable hour for those that traveled to Ireland, the game time kick-off for those in Atlanta was 7:30 AM.
Fun, right? Luckily our friends hosted a Bloody Mary & Biscuit party to watch the early game. (and who am I kidding, we are up early every day thanks to the Sweets) The hostess had an endless supply of Chick-fil-a biscuits on hand and a Bloody Mary bar set up.
Since I didn’t want to arrive empty handed, I brought a fan fave I used to make when we had season tickets. These Sausage Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls were always perfect at a morning tailgate for those noon games. Very easy to make before heading out to the tailgate and certain to get gobbled up.
THREE INGREDIENT Sausage Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls
INGREDIENTS- Sausage Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls
- 1 lb. ground sausage (I use the Jimmy Dean HOT sausage to give a little more flavor)
- 1 (8oz) pkg cream cheese
- 2 cans Pillsbury crescent rolls
DIRECTIONS – Sausage Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls
- Soften cream cheese in microwave for 15 seconds.Brown sausage like hamburger meat (drain).
- Roll out one can of crescent rolls for the bottom crust.
- Mix sausage and cream cheese together. Spread mixture onto the bottom crust.
- Use the second can of rolls to make a top layer crust by pinching sides together all the way around so the sausage mixture doesn’t come out.
- Bake at 325°F until golden brown (anywhere from 15-25min). Cut into squares.
These are perfect because they can be served hot or cold. (so…if there are any left after the game they are perfect for snacking on while waiting in post-game traffic…or so I have heard…)
Do you have any go-to tailgate bite recipes? Yay for football season!

This dish is my go to for breakfast, tailgates or snack time. If you want to up the ante, switch to spicy sausage, sharp cheese & some salsa (be sure to drain it well) & mix it in cream cheese mixture. So yummilicioys😉👍

I am definitely trying this. I really needed it last weekend when our game started at 12:30. Those early games are so hard to plan for. Thanks for this recipe.

I just printed this out (I know, only three ingredients but my memory is shot!) and can’t wait to try it. We have a ton of pork sausage in the freezer from half of a pig that we bought with friends, and even though it is SO delicious, I am always looking for ways to use that sausage up. Thanks for the inspiration! XO, Christy
