I never used to really understand all of the crazy hype around the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

But then I wised up!

Y’all, it really is that good! If you aren’t familiar with this annual sale, for only a couple weeks, Nordstrom offers shoppers brand new arrivals (upcoming fall included!!!) at sale prices. When the 25 day sale window closes, all items shoot back up to original prices.

Trust me when I say even if you aren’t in fall mode right now, you will regret it come September. You know the moment will come when the temps drop and you want to pull out some skinnies, a sweater and some booties. Then you go online to shop and realize you could have scored the same items at a fraction of the cost. (not that I have ever done that)

And we already know that Nordstrom is the BEST when it comes to shipping- free shipping and free return shipping as well. It’s truly the best to be able to try everything on in the comfort of my own home and keep what I love and send everything else back.

I love that this sale makes me take inventory of my closet for fall and winter and fill in any gaps. Now don’t get me wrong, we are still in the thick of our summer. But I know back to school is coming along with sweater weather. With a trip to NYC, two family weddings and the Big Sweet’s 40th Birthday trip already in the mix for fall- I am definitely already busy planning flights and hotels…

…so why not outfits too? 🙂

When I was packing for the beach, I did a quick closet purge (always always always editing!) and took note of a few staples that I thought would be additive. I started a list on my phone so that I can attempt to be less impulsive and more strategic about what I buy. I bought myself one of these cozy cardigans in gray last year. Then I proceeded to buy one for several family members for Christmas presents! They are truly so comfy and I wore mine ALL. THE. TIME. last year. You can see how I styled it here last fall when I had some serious pumpkins on the brain. At $77 it is still a bit of a splurge but I kid you not, I think I am at about $1 a wear at this point after one season.
