Happy Happy Friday friends! I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned with family and friends. Tis’ the season!
I am excited to join up with the 2nd annual Home for the Holidays Blog Tour hosted by Sondra Lyn at Home. Today I am sharing a simple (and free) way to wrap your presents.
But first, a confession.
Wrapping presents is not my favorite thing to do.
Sure, I love a pretty package once it’s all tied up with string, but the process itself is kind of tedious to me. I usually tend to put it off which leads to a frantic wrapping fest a few days before Christmas.
This year, to help motivate myself, I created a fun wrapping caddy filled with goodies to make the job easier. Since half of my issue is finding scissors and tape, I thought this would be a fun way to get moving on things. #thedogatemytape #nomoreexcuses
But I also added one secret ingredient…
they are free, they are colorful and if you are like me, you have a pile sitting in your drawer.
They make the perfect gift tag…Paint Chips!
Last year, I shared how I created gift tags using paint chips. This year, I decided to simplify things and instead of cutting out shapes, just use the plain old pretty ombre style paint chip. I love the way this instantly adds color to the gifts.
I love plain kraft paper and cutting old fabric into ribbon strips to wrap the gifts.
I had this old gray cable sweater in my donation pile that had seen better days. It makes a sweet ribbon strip along with a black paint chip and some washi tape.
And if you are feeling super motivated, you can always make some fun shapes. As I mentioned, last year I made a tree, snowman, gingerbread and stocking. They take more time but are super cute. I even included a printable of these shapes here.
Alrighty! Now we have no excuse not to make those packages pretty! Happy wrapping! AND be sure follow along below for inspiration from nearly 3o of today’s finest blogs.
