What to Wear to a Kentucky Derby Party- Getting Dressed is Half the Fun!

A few years ago we hosted a Kentucky Derby party. I still can’t decide if I had more fun prepping for it or actually at the party! It really is a perfect excuse to get dolled up, have some friends over, and enjoy a spring afternoon! If you have never hosted a Kentucky Derby Party- I highly recommend it. Here is my post all about tips for hosting a Kentucky Derby party. If you are lucky enough to be invited to one this year, today I am sharing inspiration for what to wear to a Kentucky Derby party with loads of great derby dress options!

ONE || BLUE STRIPED DRESS

I just love this fun maxi dress and think I could find lots of reasons to wear this dress all summer making this a great choice for a Derby party.

TWO || Run for the Roses Dress

Every year Vineyard Vines has a fun Kentucky Derby line and I just love this floral option of theirs. Bonus points because it looks really comfy too.

THREE || Eyelet Dress (Under$50!)

I love how simple this dress is and the fun detail on the top can be dressed up or down. This dress is under $50 and also comes in white!

FOUR || Floral Dress

If you want to go all in on floral, this is a cute option. It is super affordable and has lots of reviews- and there is actually a rose option too if you want to embrace that “run for the roses” look!

FIVE || Green Wrap Dress

This wrap dress is a classic style and the kelly green makes a great pop for spring!

SIX || Pink Gingham Dress

This dress can serve double duty- wear it for Easter and then again for the Derby.

SEVEN || BLACK HAT

As much as I love all of the fun colors for a Kentucky Derby party, you just can’t go wrong with a black hat! Classic.

EIGHT || Navy Fascinator

If you don’t want to go all in on a hat, a fascinator is another great option. This is just something that pins into your hair or is on a headband.

NINE || Pink Hat

The bigger the bow, the closer to heaven? Of course, I had to include a hat option that would scream “DERBY”! This would be cute paired with a more subtle dress to let the hat make the statement!

So cute for spring and summer, and so cute for a Kentucky Derby party!

ELEVEN || Rose Statement Earrings | Pink Fringe Earrings

Fun statement earrings would be a great way to add some color without spending much.

TWELVE || Sandals

I have these sandals and they have definitely gotten their use. They seem to with everything and help dress up an outfit, and are comfortable because of the large heel.

THIRTEEN || Tortoise Clutch

Last but not least, this clutch is so cute! I am such a sucker for tortoise, and think this would be a cute addition to any dress. Of course, it would be cute all spring and summer too.
