I realize that it is Wednesday, but I am just able to sit down and catch up with you here to share the weekend happenings! If you are from Atlanta, you are probably familiar with Scott’s Antique Market. For anyone that isn’t familiar, Scott’s Antique Market is a monthly market with vendors offering furniture & antiques, collectibles & knickknacks.
I hadn’t been in a couple years and when my girlfriend and I realized we both had a window with all four of our kids in school on Friday morning, the treasure hunt scheming was on! After a cup of coffee and our Friday morning carpools, we were loaded and on the road. From where we live it is about a 20 minute drive and we both had a few things on our “hunt” list.
She was on a mission for some natural/greenery pieces for her home as well as something for her living room mantel. I was on a mission for a rug for the foyer, a pair of chairs and some fall accessories.
Scott’s is VAST and it can definitely be overwhelming. It definitely helps to have a mental checklist of some things you are looking for. There are two large buildings and an outdoor market area at the venue. We started in building one and that pretty much consumed most of our shopping window.
It was so fun to go with a friend, especially one that we are super familiar with each other’s styles and homes. She found some great fall cotton boll stems here for a great price.
I spent a large portion of my time looking at rugs. It was a little overwhelming but the vendors really do know what they have if you give them an idea of what you are looking for.
I also loved the swivel chairs selection but couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. That is probably because I have yet to decide exactly what I am looking for…
So much art- lots of good inspiration.
We did not have a chance to hit building two, but did have a few minutes to peruse the outdoor area. This section is a farmhouse style lovers dream since there is so many weathered random pieces.
Our treasure hunt missions were not 100% complete but we had fun shopping and came away with a few things. I found a great rug for the foyer which I am SO excited about.
I also found a real turtle shell (don’t ask but I have randomly been wanting one) and we both snagged a fun beaded tassel necklace. My friend found some great greenery and a couple very unique spheres for her mantel.
Since we were not technically looking for jewelry of course we were giving each other a hard time about buying jewelry. But the vendor confirmed that “what happens at Scott’s, stays at Scott’s” soooo….
It is definitely a fun outing, and I think we will be back again soon!
