Imagine my complete horror when I realized we had a massive pet urine stain on our wood floors! And the dog pee smell coming from the floor was awful. But first let me back up and explain how we got here. We had a dogsitter mutliple times over the summer. We also have a home gym with rubber matting covering the floor. So my assumption is that our dog peed on the rubber matting at some point over the summer and it seeped down below the rubber matting so I never saw it.
Until I did. And let me tell you, I lost some serious sleep over this! I mean, how did this even happen?
A pet urine stain on wood floor in the shape of the state of Florida! LOL.
Dog Pee Smell Wood Floors
After doing tons of research on how to get doe pee smell and urine stain out of wood floors, I landed on trying My Pet Peed spray from Amazon. I figured for $20 bucks it was worth a shot.
Here is the link to shop this product on Amazon!
It says to use many applications. So I started. Here it is after 1 application…
and another…
And here it is on another. The dog pee smell was getting worse and so was the urine stain. But the instructions say to trust the process. It is normal for the dog pee smell to get worse as it’s being treated. YIKES THIS IS SO GROSS.
So I just kept spraying the My Pet Peed product. And kept spraying. Here it is a few weeks later. Definitely starting to improve!
The dog pee smell and stain on our wood floors finally got lighter and lighter. I still wasn’t totally happy so I kept applying the product.
And here is the final outcome! The dog pee smell is gone and the stain is nearly gone! VICTORY!
Overall, I am very happy with the final outcome. Now I can barely tell there was ever a stain there. Honestly, it looks better in person than in this photo. There is slight discoloration- but SO MUCH BETTER!

XOXO-
