Good morning and HAPPY NEW YEAR! It’s been a busy couple months around here but getting back to posting on the blog is one of my New Years Goals. I have truly missed this creative outlet and connecting with all of you here!
LAKE HOUSE BUILD IS DONE!
One of the main things that I have been focused on is finishing up and moving into the lake house. If you are new here, you can read more about the lake house build HERE. To quickly recap- we bought an old rustic lake cabin and enjoyed it for about a year before breaking ground on a new build in Summer 2023. It took around 15 months to build and we moved in this past October. It was a busy couple months wrapping up the build and then getting moved in- and of course the punch list is ongoing. Honestly- I felt like I was drinking from a fire hose for about 90 days at the end. Overall, I enjoyed the process and while I thought I would share the process more on here, things got so busy and I just couldn’t keep up. So I plan to share a tour over the coming weeks with more details on the house. For now, here is a sneak peak. 
We got to enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas a the lake and it was fun to decorate a new house for Christmas! My decorating mantra at the house is “Ralph Lauren’s Fish Camp” so I just channeled this energy when it came to Christmas. You know I love a good “theme”.
BUILT INS
I always remove everything from our living room built ins and display our Nutcracker collection for Christmas. I love it so much! But that means I am forced to style them every January. Which I guess is a good thing, forces me to keep things fresh. 🙂
Here is one side- I framed some kid art (far right) and even a business card (that little golf bag drawing). I am loving a little lamp here too.

LATEST OBSESSION
One goal I made for my “back to school” plans last August was to learn to play Mahjong. And I am happy to say that I was able to fulfill this goal and have been enjoying it over the last few months. It really is so fun to hang with friends and learn something new. Plus, the tiles are all so pretty and fun!
SNOW DAY
We have a snow day today and school is canceled. Made me think back to December of 2017 which is the last time I can really remember getting a big snow day here in Atlanta. If only I could go back and squeeze those rosy cold cheeks of my 3 and 6 year old from that sweet day!
MAHJONG ORNAMENTS
Can you even believe that I found a set of Mahjong tiles while thrifting for $4? Since I already had a set, and these were not American tiles (ahem, no Jokers IYKYK!) I decided to make my Mahjong girlies ornaments for Christmas. It just took some Gorilla Glue, my drill, little eye hooks and some pretty ribbon from my stash. I shared more here over on Instagram.
Speaking of Instagram, one big accomplishment for 2024 was hitting 100,000 on Instagram. This was a big win and something that I worked hard to achieve.
