Gussied Up Dollar Store Pumpkins

in Dollar Store Crafts, Fall, Holiday Crafts on 09/29/14

Fall is in full swing here at SSOM and I am loving it! We had a super low-key weekend which was just what this mama needed. We did some work around the house, and I even started setting up a home office. Well actually, calling it an office is a little dramatic considering it is more like a cloffice (closet-office), but I could not be happier with the way it is coming together. More to come on that soon!

Today’s post is nothing earth shattering, but sometimes those are the best and easiest projects to tackle! I am showing you how I  gussied up some pretty standard orange foam pumpkins into some pumpkins with glam.

Something that maybe even Cinderella would approve of! 🙂

When I went digging in my holiday tubs to see what I could come up with by “shopping the house” for fall this year, I found these random mismatched pumpkins.

Since I am on a serious kick with “No Spend-tember”, and already had the spray paint and gold paint on hand- these were free.  So what do you think? Got any old pumpkins sitting around?

Supplies Needed for Painted Dollar Tree Pumpkins:
  • Faux Pumpkins
  • Rustoleum Heirloom White Spray Paint
  • Gold Paint
  • Paintbrush

Just give the pumpkins a coat of spray paint. My go-to is Heirloom White. Then for the stems I just gave them a matching gold finish by painting with a paint brush.

If you have some old faux pumpkins go ahead and give them a new life!

xoxo-
Heather

Isn’t it wonderful what a couple bucks and some spray paint cab do? Love $Tree no end. If we’re in one of our 5 week months between SS pay day can still go there and for $10 get all I need to make a cute decoration can afford. We have so many of those months and they seem to fall when I need some extra cash, groan. You sure did great job remaking those foam pumpkins.
Enjoy rest of week and weekend
