{Before & After} Our Outdoor Courtyard

in Inspiration on 05/22/14

Do you consider the start of summer Memorial Day weekend? I sure do. Which means it’s here! Summer is here!

Good thing because I have definitely already been wearing my white maternity jeans for weeks. (what can I say, I like to live on the edge people)

Yep. All it takes is some warm temperatures and I am chomping at the bit to kick off summer. A big part of this is getting our outdoor spaces spruced up and ready for summer. I spent some time over the weekend getting our Outdoor Courtyard space ready for entertaining.

I have never shared this space with you before and it’s time you get to see the before and afters!

Here is what it looked like when we moved in four years ago.
Yikes.
But we knew it had potential.

BEFORE

Two years ago we gave this space some much needed love. The hubs constructed a plan to add the pergola (he can be so handy when he *wants* to be)- and we love how it turned out! We pressure washed it and pulled together some furniture for the space. My sweet husband even made the fun rolling table out of leftover pergola wood and a pallet.

PROGRESS
AFTER!

To give the space some extra punch this year, I went with red accent colors. I love the red and blue pairing for summer! Especially with the barn stars on the wall. It feels patriotic and summery, without screaming USA!

Have you spruced up your outdoor spaces yet?
Wanna see our porch makeover?
And for even more inspiration, be sure to check out some inspiration for the average girl that has me DROOLING with these 10 REAL and REALLY Awesome Outdoor Spaces!
It’ll make you want to dash outside and get to work!!!
Happy Summer!
Hope you enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!

Ha! Yes, mine can be handy when he wants to be… but it definitely takes some coaxing! 🙂

Beautiful Heather! I love the fun colour- how great is that, to have a beautiful "courtyard" in addition to your deck!

Looks fantastic! Love the pops of red. I am in the process of pulling our porch/back yard together, but we have a window install and house painting taking place soon that are keeping me from finishing 🙁

A window install and house paining sounds pretty fab though! Thanks for your note!

Great transformation! I really like the red you incorporated in the space. Our patio is spiffed up with pillows, plants, candles and friends already. 🙂

Love your courtyard! I have those exact same chairs that came with a loveseat. Bought the same replacement cushions from Target but have yet to find some to fit the loveseat.
