Y’all! How is the year almost half way over? Doesn’t that seem impossible? But here we are talking about the Fourth of July and today I am sharing a fun and inexpensive project as part of the “My Dollar DIY” monthly series. I was able to whip up this project between the move and leaving for the beach. #minormiracle This month’s theme is “Red, White & Blue” and since I love the Fourth of July, I cannot wait to see what everyone else created this time. (the links are below)
Among the craziness of the move, one of the things I was **MOST** excited to set up was “our front porch”. Somebody pinch me because I was just able to say “our front porch”.
Here is a sneak peak of OUR Front porch. ****squeeeeallll****
Since I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this little slice of the house, I figured I would use the opportunity to make something for this month’s My Dollar DIY project. About a month ago I was inspired by the summer Pottery Barn catalog with all of their cute and festive patriotic pillows. Of course, my budget wasn’t exactly Pottery Barn so I turned to my alternative… the Dollar Tree. 🙂
Oh, and a side note. I WON those chairs! Isn’t that amazing? I will be back another time to give the full tour but every time I see those chairs I am so excited!
Supplies Needed for this DIY No-Sew American Flag Pillow
- fabric glue
- white pillow cover
- $1 Flag
This project is so super simple. All you need is a flag from your local dollar store, some fabric glue and a white pillow cover. Of course, I had a pillow cover on hand #pillowhoarder but I found something similar from Amazon for $8. I also had some fabric glue on hand, but you could always just go with a needle and thread to sew the flag onto the pillow if you don’t want to buy the glue.
Ready for the tutorial?
Place the flag where you want it on the pillow cover and glue it down.
Ha. Hardly a tutorial, huh?
And here are the other projects for this month- yay for classic red, white and blue.
