Let’s talk about inspiration.
It’s what I am looking for when reading my favorite blogs, searching Pinterest or just perusing the latest Southern Living magazine. The bottom line is that after reading an article or diving into Pinterest, I want to feel inspired to do something new in my little world.
Whether that means I am inspired to try a new recipe, visit a new town, organize a drawer in my home a new way, rearrange my throw pillows, or try a new outfit color combination, I truly believe inspiration is everywhere.
So today I am starting a new outfit inspiration series called “Everyday Style Inspiration”. Getting dressed is part of our every day routine and I think we can all agree that sometimes the routine can feel a little stale. (especially this time of year, can I get an AMEN?) Whenever I feel this way, I find myself hitting up my fave fashion blogs or searching Pinterest for new ideas. So in that spirit- I thought I would start sharing my everyday outfits with you.
My hope is that these posts will spark some new “everyday” inspiration for you too!
Style tip: You will notice these shoes in many of the outfits. I was on the hunt for something comfortable I could easily slip on that was more supportive than ballet flats but less athletic than running shoes. I found these Steve Madden slip-on sneakers from Nordstrom. They are actually on sale right now for around $50 and of course Nordstrom always has free shipping and returns. I have pretty much worn them daily since they arrived. I am usually an 8 or 8.5 and sized all the way up to a 9 in these. They come in black too!

I bought this cord blazer on mega sale at J. Crew after Christmas and have loved it as the perfect lightweight dressier layer. And I can never get enough tortoise!
Burgundy and blush is on repeat around here. I just love the two pink tones together and there are so many colors to add in the mix- olive, navy or cream to name a few.

This was from our date night last Saturday night. It was a warmer night and I hadn’t worn this blouse in forever. I love these J. Crew shoes from when I was working and hardly ever have a reason to wear them anymore. The bangles I bought at the annual Nordstrom sale and they literally go with everything.
I got this cream sweater from Loft last year and it has proven to one of the best purchases for winter. I like how it is lightweight and perfect for layering. Plus, obvi, it goes it with everything!

Gingham is a staple around here, and this J Crew top was also a good investment. Of course, the jacket is another fave that can be pretty much worn year round. The gray sweater is another fave for layering because it is so thin- which means no added bulk.
How about some winter white with gray… and a pop of turquoise. See some other ideas for how I wear winter white here.
I hope this inspired you to wear something in your closet in a new way over these last few weeks of winter. I don’t know about you but I am definitely ready to pull out the spring wardrobe!
xoxo-
Heather
