Oh yes it’s that time of year again. The time of year that you are supposed to buy the men in your life a fabulous gift.
Except they likely already have ERRRYYYTHING am I right?
We have decided that Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are not going to be gift giving events around here, but I still wanted to do a little something special for the Big Sweet. If you recall, I gave our den a quick makeover in January for $100. It was fun to just use what we had on hand to give the room a little loving. Part of this simple update was styling the built-in bookshelves using things we already had. (which definitely beat the 4 foam Braves tomahawks we had sitting on them for over 6 months)
If you don’t already know, my husband is a huge golf fan. HUUUUUGE.
And over the past six months I started taking note of all of the golf stuff around the house. Golf books. A jar of tees and ball markers. More golf books. Golf balls from his prized courses. Allllllll the golf books.
You get the idea.
I’m actually not sure why this didn’t occur to me back in January but since our den is also a game room of sorts, I figured it would be fun to run with the golf theme on these shelves. This is why I love to house tweak, it is always a process.
So I spent a few days gathering all of the assorted golf items I could find.
Then a couple hours styling the shelves.
Then I added in a couple printed pictures to fill in the gaps.
I also had to throw one up from back when he played on his high school golf team. Perfect that he is posing with his Dad since this is his Father’s Day gift! (I am super impressed with myself that I could track this one down! 🙂 )
Finally, the boys and I made this fun canvas as part of our “gift”.
The flags are 6 and 3, their current ages. Pinterest inspiration for the winnnnnnn!
I definitely see these shelves as a work in progress and look forward to him being able to add more fun items as he plays more fun and unique rounds. (or who knows, maybe these shelves will evolve into something completely different in years to come…)
Happy Father’s Day to all of the Daddy’s and Daddy figures out there!
xoxo-

What a super creative gift! Especially love the flag number detail. Also admire the small magnetic easel for displaying pencils and tees !
