One of the things I get asked the most on Instagram is what I recommend for a weekend visit to Atlanta. The sad thing is that in all of the years I have been blogging, I have shared very little about this pretty city I live in! Today I want to share all about the Atlanta Botanical Gardens Concert Series they put on every summer.
Usually, I have my phone put away and forget to snap pictures when we are out on dates or out with friends. But I am going to do my best to try to remember to document some fun things so I can share recommendations with you all! So let’s start with a fun outing from this past weekend.
Atlanta Botanical Gardens Concert
One of our favorite spots around town is the Atlanta Botanical Gardens nestled down in Midtown Atlanta adjacent to Piedmont Park. It is a gem for our city tucked among the high rises and I love the different exhibits throughout the year. One thing that cannot be missed is the Garden Lights, Holiday Nights during the holidays. But now I know of a summer event that is equally as unique and perfect for your Atlanta Summer Bucket list.
This past weekend, we attended a concert at the Botanical Gardens as part of their summer concert series. The seats are general admission and the concert takes place on the Great Lawn. We decided to grab some dinner beforehand at Bulla Gastrobar. It was the perfect location near the park and the food was delicious. We then made our way to the park to meet up with our group of friends.
We spotted a few exhibits from the current exhibit (that dragon in image below) and got settled into our chairs. (you can bring low lawn chairs or blankets)
The pre-show started and not even 15 minutes later, we were “treated” to a summer downpour. It definitely made for an interesting adventure. But we all just rolled with it while running for cover. Once the rain passed, we found our soggy seats and the night continued with great views of our city’s skyline and fun music.
Can’t wait to come back at Christmas to see the holiday lights!
xoxo-
Heather
