Before the holidays, we were fortunate to sneak away and spend some time at The Gasparilla Inn in Boca Grande, Florida. This was my husband’s company trip so there was a little work, a lot of play and we even got in some relaxing! The Gasparilla Inn was high on my travel bucket list and it did not disappoint.
The Gasparilla Inn opened in 1913 and it has not lost that “Old-Florida” charm. The Inn recently received a beautiful update that had me ooohing and aaaahing at every turn while keeping that old charm it’s known for. When you arrive at the Inn, you are welcomed by some rocking chairs on the front porch. While it is a beautiful building, I was not overwhelmed with the charm upon arrival. However, the charm of this great destination was built little by little with every single detail as the days went on. From the palm tree streets, to the darling Inn rooms, to the golf cart friendly village, even the adorable cottage room key just had me smiling.

SNAPSHOTS OF THE COTTAGES
We didn’t actually stay in the Inn as we had a room in one of the nearby cottages. The rooms were cute but very small. Which was totally fine since we spent very little time in them. We rented bikes and a golf cart which made it really fun to explore the island.
SNAPSHOTS OF THE GASPARILLA INN BEACH CLUB
The beach club is a golf cart or bike ride away from the Inn which only takes a few minutes. It also recently got a major upgrade and I just loved every single detail!
WHAT WE DID
Our stay was a mix of the team working while the spouses played. But we also had plenty of downtime as a group. Here are some highlights on what we did and where we ate:
- Dinner at the Pink Elephant
- Golf
- Fishing Excursion (we caught TONS AND TONS of fish!)
- Golf cart rides through the downtown area and all around the Island
- Lunches and lounging at the Beach Club
- Steam and pool at the spa
- Golf cart ride to South Beach Bar & Grill (a dive bar on the beach)
- Temptations Restaurant for Dinner- they even cooked up our fresh fish!
- Breakfast at the Inn Bakery
- Sunsets at the Beach Club
I think we will be back! 🙂
