Southern State of Mind Blog by Heather

{Hello Spring} 2017 Spring Home Tour

in Home Tour, Seasonal Home Tours, Spring on 03/27/17

Hello loves! How was your weekend? Ours was good and ended with a Carolina Tarheel basketball win- we are so excited to be heading to the Final Four.  That was an intense game though and I was definitely stress-eating raw cookie dough straight from the fridge to make it through. Since The Big Sweet and I are a house divided when it comes to college football, it’s fun to have a basketball team we can agree on. And since we were living in Chapel Hill when Carolina when the National Championship in 2005, this “madness” holds a special place in my heart.

Today I am finally back with a house post. #cuetheconfetti I think it has been since Christmas since I have showed any rooms in our home but I think we can all agree the past three months have flown. I guess I am finally out of the post holiday fog. (Just in time for the upcoming summer fog, ha.) But since I spruced things up a bit for spring, I thought I would share the current state with some pops of color. I also am joining up with 25 other bloggers that are sharing their spring home- lots of inspiration for you!

Let’s start in the foyer- well hello spring.

The rug I found at Scott’s a few months back is still making this corner of the house very happy. I did paint the foyer a bright white, and while I do miss my Hale Navy (actually, ALOT) it did help to brighten things up.

Moving into the living room. Welllllllll…. What can I say about this room? If you have been around here long you know I gave this room a makeover in the fall. Wellllll…. it is all completely different again. Don’t ask. It’s called house tweaking and yes I am addicted.

I made this fun egg topiary and will be back later this week with the tutorial. Spoiler alert- it’s all Dollar Tree supplies! It’s not standard Easter colors but I love the navy coloring with the green moss.

Moving into our dining area. I loved pulling out some pops of color and it definitely helped that my birthday was right before I took these pictures because I had some fun flowers for the centerpiece.

I hope you found some inspiration here to help welcome spring in your home too. And for LOTS more goodies- check out the other 25 homes below! HELLO SPRING!

xoxo-
Heather

Such a pretty tour heather! I think I’ve got more blues in my house currently than I ever have and so I’m loving all the blue in your decor. All the fresh flowers you used remind me of home, right here in Atlanta!

The couch–the pale gray couch–do you like it and can you share any information about it? Beautiful decor.
