I ❤️ ATLANTA || College Football Hall of Fame

in I HEART ATLANTA, travel on 01/21/21

Back before the craze of the holidays the boys had a random day off school and we decided to enjoy an Atlanta Funday at the College Football Hall of Fame. It’s no secret that my oldest is football crazy so I was thrilled when they reached out and invited us down to experience all of the fun for ourselves. It was especially nice since we were not able to attend a college football game this past year due to Covid.

When you enter the building you are immediately greeted with a wall of helmets from every college football team and a massive mural painted by a local artist Steve Penley. A team member is there to get you checked in and help you pick your college football team. This helps to customize your experience while you are there- and your team’s football helmet on the wall lights up once selected!

Now that we are checked in, it’s time for the fun! The boys absolutely loved playing on the field with a full size field goal. The guys that were working were tossing it back and forth and holding the football for them to do kicks into the field goal. They were in heaven.

Here I am pretending to be Erin Andrews on the field reporting at a game. 🙂

Once they had their fill of the field, we went on to check out the museum. Your badge that was customized with your team name will recognize you and will play information on a big screen specific to your team. We selected University of Georgia (where I went), Georgia Tech (where my husband went for undergrad) and University of North Carolina (where my husband went for graduate school).

From there, you are just able to wander around and take in all of the great memorabilia. Look at UGA’s cute sweater.

There are a few interactive games and the boys got competitive doing the drills.

The College Football Hall of Fame has reopened (it closed during the beginning of the pandemic) but with limited hours. (you can see more info on their website) Since we went as soon as it opened on a Thursday – we practically had the place to ourselves.  It felt very safe and clean and was a fun Atlanta outing.
