Front Porch Coffee Talk

in Front Porch Coffee Talk on 09/12/19

Hello hello from HOT-lanta and happy Friday!   Today it’s time for another Front Porch Coffee Talk, where we get to pretend we are sitting on the front porch just chatting about whatever is on our minds. So grab your (iced) coffee and let’s chat!

I told myself not to complain about the weather, but honestly, what else would we be talking about if we were sitting on my front porch besides the sweltering record highs? 🙂  I mean, really. It. Is. HOT.

Moving on….

Of course, I couldn’t let this week go by without expressing my emotions about September 11th. In case you missed it, this is what I shared on Instagram:

I was 21 and a senior at UGA. My boyfriend (now husband) was a recent college graduate with a new job that sent him to the 62nd floor in the South Tower of the World Trade Center for two weeks of training. September 11th, 2001 was day two of his training. Never in a million years would we think this simple note from his brother would hold so much meaning and still be hanging on my mother-in-law’s fridge 18 years later. #Neverforget

Speaking of my mother in law’s fridge- I shared that we recently downsized her and I am THRILLED to share that we closed on her home last Wednesday. It was a whirlwind sale that kept me very busy for the past few weeks (but I did find these beautiful handwritten recipes that I shared this week) and I am so happy to have the chapter closed. Well, sort of… we are temporarily storing a few pieces of furniture… in our dining room. Just in case you were wondering why I didn’t share the dining room in yesterday’s tour, now you know why.

Thank you to everyone for your sweet comments on my early fall home tour yesterday. I didn’t have enough time to make it through everyone’s homes on the tour yet but am loving the fall inspiration so far! And isn’t this a much prettier picture than the one above?! This is why you shouldn’t let the pretty pictures on Instagram fool you. I can guarantee that behind every bloggers lens there is a disaster lurking somewhere. 🙂

NYC here we come! Heading to NYC next week for my fourth Better Homes and Garden’s Stylemaker event. I am so excited for the fun and inspiring day they put together. And also really excited to spend three days in NYC with girlfriends. We are planning to see a show but have yet to buy tickets. Would love to know if you have any current Broadway faves? Last year we saw Beautiful and LOVED it. We are leaning towards Come From Away this year. Oh, and here I am with my blogging bestie (yes, we met on the internet, ha) having a “moment” last year.

So many people asked about this poncho yesterday. I just love the colors for fall and it is the perfect thing to throw on as a fun layer. (and yes I was pretty much sweating snapping this shot!) Snag one HERE.

With the crazy fast whirlwind move that happened for my MIL, I decided to postpone starting the Faster Way to Fat Loss that I shared a few weeks ago as I just didn’t have the time to fully engage. I officially started it this past Monday 9/9 and have no more excuses! It has been 4 days and I can already feel a difference. Of course, with any program, the first few days are easy so I will keep you posted on my progress over the next 7 weeks. To find out more about it- click here.

Spotted at Trader Joe’s this week! Always an exciting day. I held off on buying any yet though. Sadly record highs = rotting pumpkins.

Alright friends, I probably should go do some adulting now. Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

xoxo-

Heather
