Hello Friday and Hello Fall! Is there any other season that we all freak out about as much as the official arrival of fall? It really is such a fun season, isn’t it? It’s been a great week getting caught up back at home after the Better Homes and Gardens Stylemaker event in the always fabulous New York City. This week’s Front Porch Coffee Talk picture has a little different view than my front door! 🙂 However, it is still the same idea…we chat about whatever is on our minds just like two friends chatting on the front porch.
As I mentioned, last week I was up in NYC for the Better Homes and Gardens Stylemaker event. This was my fourth time attending and it was by far one of my faves. The speakers were inspiring and catching up with other bloggers is always so enjoyable and inspiring in it’s own way. I will be sharing a recap next week and some highlights from our time in NYC if you are heading there anytime soon. Can we just talk about how fun it was to have an excuse to wear sequins for a day?
So that brings me to next point. (are you wondering how sequins could possibly be part of my next point?! read on…) My blogging bestie and I are challenging ourselves to a 31 day STYLE MY CLOSET CHALLENGE and we would LOVE for you to join us. Sure, we get dressed every day. But for this challenge we want to INTENTIONALLY wear the fall clothes in our closet for 31 days straight. I am already tired just thinking about executing this challenge, but I hope this is a fun way to actually wear the fall clothes hanging in my closet! It sure is easier to grab the comfy go-to stuff, and many times it feels like I have “nothing to wear” but this is my challenge for using what I have and finding JOY in it. More to come on this over the weekend!
If you haven’t tried the Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Bread mix, be sure to grab a box on your next visit. My kids gobble this stuff up, and I plan to substitute the oil with applesauce this year.
Finally started the book “Educated”, it’s been on my “to-read” list since the spring. So thankful my friend dropped it on my front porch just in time for my flight. Very interesting so far.
I snagged this brown cardigan on a whim at Target right before I left for NYC. It is the perfect weight, color and length- and only around $20. I wore it almost every day in NYC- as you can see here! Just a great lightweight layer and perfect rusty brown color for fall.
I beelined it to the Ikea near my house a few weeks ago and had my eye on this clothes rack prize. It’s called the Rigga Clothes Rack, I think it was under $15 in the store and it took less than 10 minutes to assemble. I got rid of the one I had when we moved two years ago and missed having one on hand. I am loving being able to pull clothes for travel, it really does help when trying to pack!
This just made me laugh because it is so true. It really is just never ending isn’t it?
Speaking of laundry…. this is what I left for my dream team holding down the fort back home when I was in NYC. (thanks Mom and Dad!) If only this would magically appear in my laundry room every Sunday night! 🙂

Can’t wait for our challenge!! And yes to those organized daily outfit stacks for the boys! Go, mom! You should go out town more often if they’re so prepped while you’re gone!! 😉

Heather did all the prepping! It made it so easy to be there for the boys when she was away!
