Another Friday is here and it sure did come fast! This one is great because we are literally counting down the last few hours of this crazy heat wave here in the south. (can I get an amen) It’s also great because we are heading to see our friends in Charlotte this weekend. But before we head of town, grab your coffee and let’s have our Front Porch Coffee Talk , shall we?
Today is Day 4 of the STYLE MY CLOSET CHALLENGE and so far it has been lots of fun. I am already realizing how quickly I grab the comfiest items over and over. I am really enjoying flexing my creative muscle every morning when it comes to my closet. We have heard from so many of you that are playing along which makes me just so so happy. I love to know that you are feeling inspired to shake things up in your routine and “fall” back in love with your closet. I thought it would be fun to share what I have put together so far if you are not following along on Instagram:
Day 1: Crazy for Camo
Camo Tee | White Sneakers | Pink Heart Earrings | Rug (similar) | Cotton Wreath
Day 2: Graphic Tee
Good Vibes Graphic Tee | Brown Cardigan
Day 3: Leopard Love
Rug (similar) | Cotton Wreath | Black Peplum Top | Sandals |
Leopard Shorts (sadly mine are Walmart and sold out, but these are similar)
Today is Day 4: Orange is the New Black and I am planning to wear the below outfit. I plan to continue sharing outfits throughout the challenge over on my Instagram if you want to follow along! It’s not too late to join in on the fun, even if it is just a day here or there. I promise you will have a new perspective on your closet- now whether it’s good or bad is the question! 🙂
Rug | Kimono | Wreath | Tortoise Necklace | Planters | Wire Pumpkins
I finally unrolled the art I bought when wandering Union Square in NYC and I love it! I need to find a frame. And also need to decide where it should live in the house. I am thinking in the powder room but to be determined. Stay tuned!
I am thrilled to be doing a women’s bible study this fall- and the format is really just a weekly book club meeting. We chose the book Unglued: Making Wise Choices in the midst of Raw Emotions and I can honestly say that within the first 3 paragraphs I was nodding my head wondering if the author had been present in my home that very morning! I am only 2 chapters in but so far it is great and I look forward to continuing the conversation with this great group of ladies.
This week we hit a huge milestone with my husband’s new business. We celebrated the special occasion by FINALLY opening that bottle of Dom Periognon champagne that was gifted to us over two years ago. You may recall that I listed “Drink the bottle of Dom Periognon gifted to us for a special occasion” as one of my “Carpe Diem 45 x 45 Birthday Bucket List” Items. It may have taken us two years, but it was well worth the wait!
October is Dyslexia Awareness month… which of course is something celebrated around here since we have the pleasure of raising a dyslexic child. I am amazed and inspired at these children and their superpower on a daily basis. Learning to read isn’t easy – I mean look at this shirt after all.
