Welcome friends! Come on in for a look at our Christmas home! My hope is to inspire you with a new idea or two and I hope you feel warm and welcome as we take a virtual stroll. We’ve been busy little elves decking the halls and prepping for Christmas. This year I really did simplify my decorations and it feels great as I try to just “keep it simple” in many areas of my life. In fact, I shared a fun series called “Real Mom’s Guide to Holiday Magic” where I shared TEN SIMPLE IDEAS for creating holiday magic in your own home. I would love for you to go over and take a peek over on Instagram by clicking here ===> INSTAGRAM@SOUTHERNHEATHER
Today I am joining an inspiring group of bloggers who are also sharing their homes all linked down below. If you are coming over from Simply2Moms – Welcome! I am so glad you are here.
If you are new here, I’m Heather, the home-zhushing-iced-coffee-drinking-mom behind the blog. My husband and I live in Atlanta with our two boys – ages 8 and 11. This is our sixth Christmas in this home, which is hard to believe, and while at this point I like to do some of the same tried and true decorations for Christmas, I still enjoy some tweaking here and there.
This blog brings me so much joy and I am so glad you are joining me today to have a look around! One way to get caught up with me lately is to read my Front Porch Coffee Talks where I share what’s on my mind like old friends chatting over coffee.
Alright! Well with no further ado- let’s go on in and see our 2022 Christmas home.

Come on in!
I always love adding a garland and a wreath to the front porch. So simple. So pretty.
I love clipping flowers from the yard for fresh greenery. And a shiny mint julep cup is always a good idea. So simple. So pretty.

Moving along into the heart of our home is our living room. What can I say, it’s all about the Nutcrackers in here! I also swapped out some plaid pillow covers which are an easy addition because they can be folded and stored away easily.

The kitchen is truly the heart of our home and probably where I spend most of my day. As I mentioned above, I kept things VERY simple this year and the kitchen is probably the simplest I’ve ever done at Christmas. But I just love the simplicity and it is what I need in this otherwise busy life!
I shared how I created this really simple kitchen island centerpiece using four things I had on hand in a way. I just love it on the kitchen counter. And I love burning that yummy Christmas candle. You can see the full post here: SIMPLE KITCHEN ISLAND CENTERPIECE IDEA
The wreath, candle and ornaments are the perfect festive touch without being too busy. So simple. So pretty.
I also had some fun making this pretty arrangement. YES- those are gold spray painted limelight hydrangeas. And YES, I love them!
I also added a few spray painted hydrangeas to this wreath and added a pretty brown velvet bow. So simple. So pretty.
Oh, and while we are in the kitchen- I figured I would share these ADORABLE Santa brownie bites I made with only three ingredients. Perfect for an easy Christmas dessert. You can see the full post here: SANTA BROWNIE BITES

In keeping with the simple theme, I just used lots of greenery in here and pretty much did the exact same thing I did last year. I just really loved the metallics with the wallpaper ceiling. I did add a little pop of red with those Christmas tree folded napkins.
Gotta love a big old bowl full of ornaments! So simple. So pretty.
Well, that does it for me today! I hope you enjoyed this simplified Christmas home tour. A huge thanks to Marty at A Stroll Thru Life for organizing today’s holiday tour. Be sure to head over to Chalking Up Success who is sharing her halls all decked out too!

Heather your home is so beautiful, it’s always one of my favorites! I LOVE your nutcracker collection, especially mixed in with your blue and white. So beautiful! Merry Christmas! xo

Oh I love, love, love it all. The kitchen vignettes are perfect and I love the bowl with pretty ornaments, and the arrangement on the stove with feathers is so pretty too. I think my favorite is how beautifully you do all of your garlands. The one on the dining room console is stunning. Your Nutcraker collection is also a favorite every year. Thanks so much for joining the tour again this season, your home is always filled with such special ideas and decor.

I’ve never thought to spray paint hydrangeas before but goodness, it’s lovely and so clever! And I love your home and all the extra touches here and there. Makes me want to clear out my kitchen (too much crap on the counters) and start over! Are those little doors next to your stove and lamp? Curious minds want to know! Enjoyed hopping with you today. Merry Christmas!

I love it all Heather! Your home is so beautiful and you’ve made it so warm and welcoming for the holiday season. Your nutcracker collection is so cute and I have to make those adorable Santa brownies!
Cheers! – Shelley

I am not very crafty so please share how I you hung your wreath over your doors. It doesn’t look like you have a wreath holder. It looks like the ribbon goes over door while looping onto the inside wreath? I’m confused. Please share.

Your holiday decor is so beautiful Heather. I am obsessed with your nutcracker collection! You’ve inspired me to decorate with hydrangeas next year. They’re so pretty. Love it all. Merry Christmas!
