My Favorite Chili Recipe

in Food, Inspiration on 10/08/15

With fall temps and rainy weather last weekend I was craving my favorite chili recipe. Honestly, is there anything better than dumping a bunch of ingredients in the crock pot and coming back hours later with dinner ready to go? This time of year I just love using my crock pot for easy dinners and this chili recipe is tried and true.

Chili Recipe Southern

One of my favorite slow-cooker recipes is this tasty and easy chili sure to please your southern crowd. My mother-in-law shared this with us years ago and it has never failed.

The best part is that this recipe is only 5 ingredients and a couple spices from your cupboard.

Dinner is DONE!

My Favorite Chili Recipe Southern- Ingredients:

2 Pounds Ground Beef
1 Onion Diced
2 Bell Peppers (red, yellow, and/or green)
3 Cans of Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes (small can)
1 Can Hot Ro*Tel
From the cupboard:
3 T Chili Pepper
3 t Ground Mustard
2 t Pepper

My Favorite Chili Recipe Southern-  Instructions:

Step 1:
Brown Ground Beef

Step 2:
Add all ingredients into crock pot on low. Here are the fresh veggies and Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes & Ro-*Tel in the crock pot before I added the ground beef.

Step 3:
Let simmer for 6-8 hours. Warning: It will smell divine.

These five ingredients perfectly fit into a standard crock pot. After you dump everything in the crock-pot, get on with your day. When you come home for dinner, just serve it up with all the fixin’s! And then just wait for all of your friends to ask you for the recipe.

Please note: This tastes best when watching football. 🙂

So, do you have a favorite chili recipe? Ready to try mine?

Happy crock-potting!

xoxo-
Heather
